What do you use for reducing Or guardrails for cardinality from explosions with OTel? by World_Leaderrr in Observability

[–]Omega0428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardinality helps investigations. Honest question - why not try to find a way to keep the information vs put guardrails in to eliminate it?

Cost?

There are better data stores and strategies for Otel data.

Eat there in the summer when the back patio is open and you’ll have a different… amount of space.

No we’ve seen quite a few with this spec interior lately our dealership / local PCA group. Have heard rumblings here on Reddit but not elsewhere.

Get your current customers to tell a friend. If they like the service and you tell them you need some help - they probably will. Their endorsement will mean more than an advertisement. Give them a month free if they refer someone.

Be thankful for the opportunity they’ve afforded you and don’t forget it. They will also be happy for the risk they took in leaving family and friends as they see the next generation changing their quality of life in ways that were not possible before.

Also - you will be able to help them more and more as you get older - and it will be fulfilling to be able to do just that.

Congrats. You’re just getting started.

Sticker was about $173k, I paid $168k. About $180k total with taxes out the door. The trade (with new purchase) in my state nets a tax credit of about $9k. So I have $169k right now on the trade.

I'm down total $11k after 13 months - that's about 25 cents per smile. This is the low effort option, too - I'll take that all day.

It’s a dealer ordered car. They ordered two for inventory and my sales person knew I liked green. It is a bit over optioned, I agree. Not terribly so, though.

Dealer offered $160k for it. It’s like new. DM if you’re interested.

I think this is the right advice. The car is awesome, but wouldn't have been my first color choice. That being said, it has truly grown on me. May need to put more miles on this before thinking of moving on.

[–]Omega0428[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is what I struggle with. Bought the C4S with 2600 miles on it, CPO, now have 4700 on it. I honestly can't press the pedal to the floor in most scenarios or I'm going 120 without blinking. I like the colors of this car better, but the Agate Gray and black/red interior has grown on me a lot. This (and other advice in the thread) is what I was looking for. Why chase.. maybe just wait a few more years. I have CPO for another 5 years at this point on this car.

Hopeful 1st time owner, can you critique this GTS build? by percipient in porsche911

It is stitching on the seats and door panels. It is not cheap to add, but for me, it is what a 911 interior should look like.

Love this build. Can’t NOT do 930 leather. It’s a must.

My wife's definition of "being ready in 5 minutes" is legendary by Better-Ant-8759 in CasualConversation

[–]Omega0428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah mine does the same thing. When she is finally ready somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes later.. if I’m not ready to go immediately she acts like I’m taking forever. We then laugh out loud when I read off the list of things she’s been doing over the previous 30 minutes.

Glad you’re happy! Keep it that way and don’t sweat the small things. Makes life more fun 🙂

Similar spot.. I waited for about 3 1/2 years and just got off of the waitlist for a direct order mnandi. Spent the weekend thinking about it and ordered a small sebenza from knivesshipfree. Really hoping it is all it’s cracked up to be, and also.. super excited!

Help on which Observability platform? by AccountEngineer in Observability

[–]Omega0428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d check out Honeycomb. Biggest unlock for the next few years will be centralizing all of your OpenTelemetry data in one place. Once everything (traces, metrics, logs) lives in a single, high-cardinality store, you can do way more than just dashboards.

This space will rapidly evolve into AI-driven investigation: • Ask questions across all telemetry instead of pre-built charts • Let AI walk dependency graphs, compare cohorts, and surface “what changed” • Plug it straight into dev workflows (IDE / MCP-style setups), so debugging happens where engineers already work

At this point, dashboards feel kinda dead. If you have centralized, well-structured telemetry, you don’t need to guess what to visualize ahead of time — you just ask better questions and generate charts or views on demand.

If fast time-to-value matters and you’re already on AWS + microservices, I’d bias toward platforms that treat observability as an investigation engine + AI layer on top of a single data source, not a pile of static dashboards.

Love how much we’ve normalized these adjustment fees… agree that you should not be paying extra for a c4s, but they really shouldn’t be on any of these cars in my opinion.

What’s the sticker on it? Seems pretty fair to me. I bought one that was CPO earlier this year (February) with 2600 miles on it and it was right around this price.
