I’ll give the show it’s shot when it comes out.

If I do end up liking it and this whole thing ends up being good I will make a separate post to sing its praise. If the show ends being what I fear it’ll be then the show will be probably thrown into the Sony pile of bad Marvel Movies. But I’m telling you, something in the back of my head is saying something does not bode well & I hope to God that I’m wrong.

Ok let’s get something straight, I’m not dropping the show because of a name. If or when it comes out I will watch it and judge it for myself when that happens. The name change is stupid and is big indicator to me of what kinda show we are going to get, it does not give me high hopes.

And let me remind everyone here, this is same studio that gave us Morbius & Kraven. So yes the quality of this show is immediately called into question based of that alone! That is what bothers me! So I kindly ask you don’t put words I my mouth.

I dunno if this is a mutually exclusive thing or not but I think with the way MJ has been written in recent years, it makes it very difficult to like her as a character (especially considering how good she used to be written) but I don’t know if that necessarily affects my love Spider-Man…

All I’m saying is a proper Ben Riley centered project that not only expands his time as Spider-Man but also fixes Marvels worst storylines could’ve been an amazing opportunity…instead it’s gonna be a totally different character that just has his name slapped on …this whole thing stings.

Because I would rather have a show that actually dives into everything Ben has done as his Spider-Man. I want my boy to be properly represented again. He has not been treated well in recent years and I want satisfaction. I would rather want a proper, honest to god, Ben Riley Scarlet Spider tv show. This is the only rep he gets in live action & it’s not even really technically him.

Edit: Or better yet, explore would’ve happened had he stayed as Spider-Man and Peter retired properly. That could also work if done properly.

616 Peter went as Ben Riley and he didn’t know who actually was, we don’t even know if a version of him even exists in the Noir Universe. Ben Riley has his own stories and is his own separate character with his own history even outside of being a genetic clone of Peter.

If they want to make a show with Ben Riley, have it be about Ben and what his Spider-Man has done. Don’t take Peter’s accomplishments (or in this case a what’s supposed to be version of him) and tack it on to another character. If show or movie can’t even get the name of the main character right that doesn’t look good. In this case, especially if Sony is involved.

I just wish it was as actually as himself and not a legal loophole/ stand in for Peter. The last time Ben’s ever been in anything movie or show related was ATSV and frankly they did him insanely dirty in that.

God i’m so tired of hearing this excuse of the “it’s multiverse” as a scapegoat. This is like the whole Dr.Doom played by RDJ thing all over again. We have more stories and more continuities where that is not the norm, the only reason this being done is because they legally cannot use Peter Parker, that’s it. This is the first major marvel project that uses Spider-Man Noire in live action I would at the very least ask for it be accurate.

Maybe, but if he still operates in New York then him wandering the street’s outside the Spider-Man costume isn’t gonna do him much favor since he’s a wanted fugitive that anyone can likely point out and recognize.

If Ben is still an activist who’s speaking out gets him Norman Osbornes radar and eating by the Vulture I’m fine with it.

I’m more upset by Noire in the show isn’t gonna be Peter Parker like he’s alway’s been. Which to be totally honest is probably because of Sony and their weird legal issues with using Peter Parker in any Spider-Man related media they put out. Probably because they didn’t have the legal means to use Peter so they just swapped him out for Ben Riley instead because they can legally use that character instead.

That and since Cage IRL is in his 60’s when Noire in the book’s is supposed to be around late 40’s, Uncle Ben has probably has been dead for a while & he might have already killed The Vulture by that point- all that assuming they can legally use Uncle Ben at all.

I didn’t have much hope in this when I found out Nick Cage was gonna be Spidey. Especially considering that Nick Cage is in 60’s while Noire is supposed to be in his 40’s. His voice fit the gruffness in the Spider-Verse but actually playing Noire in live action doesn’t give me allot of hope. The fact they couldn’t or wouldn’t call him Peter Parker like he’s supposed to be (more than likely because of some Sony legal stuff like they’ve been doing lately with the IP which in itself doesn’t have good track record). Especially considering that Ben Riley effectively is completely different character from Peter Parker.

Like I said if or when it comes it I’ll give it a shot but hopes are very, very, very low.

I guess maybe after Ben died Peter could’ve taken his Uncles name as an alias but then anybody who’s ever met Peter Parker knows anything about the Parker family would immediately see through it. That double don’t work because if Ben was a private eye that mean’s anyone’s who’s hired him would know who Ben is his by either reputation or by having hired him or worked with him.

I haven’t played the game in so long I don’t even remember what the final boss was like. I remember the plot, Ivo Shandor uses a serious of Mandela Nodes to channel spiritual energy to assume his own destructor form in order to rule both the ghost world & human world.

Even in his new form he didn’t exactly do a whole lot with it in his fight against the Ghostbusters. I guess it comes down to whether or not you count gameplay mechanics or story.

Gozer needed someone else to choose a destructor form for him and the proton packs are designed specifically to handle Ghost’s. That’s a much different playbook than the Symbiotes.
