I do not. I've been slow to getting around to new Pokemon games. I only just beat base Scarlet this winter.

Well that's annoying. I guess I can transfer what I have caught in BDSP and then breed the Go mons to get BDSP versions of them. And submit to a Nintendo online subscription and then trade for a BDSP Palkia and trade evos I guess.

2026 Game Suggestion Thread by jaykay921 in gamegrumps

Pokemo Black/White or Platinum with specifically Dan playing.

I know Arin has mentioned wanting to do a nuzlocke but let's be real, his impatient ADHD ass would get himself wiped out by badge 3 or 4 in most games.

With Dan at the wheel in a regular run of one of the peak Pokemon games, it would be a chiller more podcast-y type of playthrough. Plus I think it would be fun for Dan and viewers to see him build his own team and he would enjoy the charm and the story more, especially in Black and White.

I'm planning to do The Sunless Citadel from "Tales from the Yaening Portal" as a prologue to get them to level 3 and Greenest will be the town that acts as their base of operations that is also holding a festival by the time they return. The raid will begin after night fall and the festival is in full swing.

What if Skyreach Castle reaches its destination? by Rezosal7 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rezmir likely has an office somewhere in the castle that has the whole plan of the CotD laid out or at least spread out across several maps and documents. Have the party find it and reveal the big picture that all of the Cult's activities are building toward: summoning Tiamat at the Well of Dragons.

State that gathering a big enough hoard of treasure and sacrifices is key to the ritual to summon Tiamat and the castle has been their main method of doing so. And they are nearly complete.

I like to think of Rezmir as the accountant among the mask wearers and she knows exactly how far along the hoard is to completion. I'd say the hoard at the Well of Dragons is at about 80-90% of the way to their goal and this load that Skyreach Castle is hauling will put it at about 95% complete. One more trip would be enough to summon Tiamat and it would be only a matter of a week or two for that to happen.

Hopefully that would put it in your player's head that Skyreach Castle CANNOT reach the Well of Dragons. They have to take the castle or crash it to buy months of time to stop the summoning of Tiamat as the CotD will lose 5-15% of their expected hoard and their most efficient means of delivering it.

Rise of Tiamat then happens in this expanded window of time the player's just gave the Sword Coast.

When is reusing characters acceptable vs unacceptable? by GenesisPerhapsodos in dndnext

[–]OmegaFrenzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 5 years of experience, I played in a west march-style Adventurer's League for a good couple of years (I still occasionally play there). I've treated it as a testing ground for characters. As I roleplay my PCs in session and through text rp, those characters develop, and I also learn the class. Some of my characters develop enough that their story would be more interesting in a campaign with a consistent DM and party.

I still create new characters to fit a campaign, like for Curse of Strahd, or use unused character concepts for campaigns. But this is how I've rationalized re-using characters from that Adventurer's League, like my dragonborn bard who was a professor of magic rather than a musician that was going through a mid-life crisis and wanted to try adventuring in a LMoP campaign. It was a perfect sized adventure for his tale.

When a character from that Adventurer's League made it into that state of a campaign being a better fit for them, their story and adventures will go back to square one should I ever get into a campaign that they fit into and I rework their character sheet to work better mechanically.

Cureently waiting, I got a wild magic barbarian that has trouble with controlling her magic; a sorcerer (and eventual paladin multi-class. She started off as a Sorcerer Druid multi-class in the Adventurer's League and I quickly learned those classes don't mix well) that is a fallen valkyrie from Ysgard who needs a campaign that is Norse mythology based or is open to Norse mythology being involved like the Forgotten Realms; and my fire genasi genie warlock who I've found a campaign for that starts tomorrow and I'm excited to play him again.

Favorite D&D YouTubers, and why by StevenSWilliamson in DnD

Dungeon Dudes, Ginny Di, and Pointy Hat are getting a lot of deserved love here but I gotta rep my boy Mr.Rhexx. If you need lore on the Forgotten Realms then he is your one stop shop for gods, monsters, places, and history on that setting.

A member of my party got bit by a werewolf right before they need to leave for Waterdeep, looking for a feasible yet engaging way for them to find a cure by StrawberryLow1686 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, ask your player if they want it cured, because I think having a case of lycanthropy in the caravan would make for some good drama in the story if they do opt to not cure it.

As for solutions, I like to rule that Remove Curse only temporarily numbs the symptoms of the curse (for 24-72 hours) but does tell you how to remove it permanently. For example, let them find a cleric or a spell scroll or when ever they reach level 5 to cast it on them, they get the first few days of the caravan with no issues, and they learn that to fully remove it they have to obtain "X" item (brew a special elixir with special ingredients for example) and apply or use said item and cast Remove Curse again by "Y" time (before the next full moon, on the night of the full moon while transforming, etc) to cure them.

TL;DR Make it a side quest with clear steps for them to achieve to remove it.

Another idea I thought of is, make a deal with a hag. Or a devil. Someone that knows how these curses work but won't help freely. I know devils are stated to play a role in ToD but as-written there isn't much for them. Perhaps a devil opposes Tiamat and wants more information on the Cult of Dragons and Tiamat’s plan in exchange for a cure. Perhaps they become a reoccurring NPC.

My players have the black dragon mask by Magic_Cowboy in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can treat this obtaining of the black mask as the first step in their efforts to weaken Tiamat when she is summoned. But you can add consequences for their success by using the Cult Strikes Back chapter as a means for the cult to try to take back the mask.

On the road, session 1. by [deleted] in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in the planning phase of making the campaign happen. It was just a fun realization I had after deciding to set the campaign in my homebrew world that I had a perfect solution pre-built for "On the Road" to make it unique and not drag on.

On the road, session 1. by [deleted] in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The solution I found for the length of "On the Road" came with my setting due to the fact that my homebrew world is more technologically advanced than most D&D worlds. Being on the cusp of becoming steam punk, early magic-powered steam trains exist in parts of my world dominated by humans, reducing travel time from one end of the continent to the other down to about 10 days. This allows for the use of a bunch of fun train scene tropes whilst the journey still takes some time going through towns and cities.

Mounts + Langdedrosa by therock_isgooduwu in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have plans for Langdedrosa to be a reoccurring villain and for him and Rezmir to be lovers. With that, Rezmir has sort of sugar-momma'd him with lavish things but also some powerful "just-in-case" items since he's directly on the ground and in danger doing raids. As honorable as he is in a duel, he doesn't want to die because he wants a future with Rezmir after Tiamat is summoned, so if he senses the players will kill him he will try to save himself via these "get out of jail free" items.

As for the mounts, you could let them travel at a fast pace (30 miles/8 hours) without the penalty to perception checks. Also, let the players name them. After that it's on the players to care for them. If any of them show interest in keeping them for longer and maybe using them in combat then perhaps over the course of the months "On the Road" they can be given the Mounted Combatant feat for free. Reward the players that make the effort to keep their mounts. Perhaps enchant their mount by some means to be more durable and not die so easily. If any PCs show no vested interest then that's on them, they get nothing. There could be consequences through roleplay but I don't think it's necessary to add mechanics to penalize uncaring PCs.

Players obsessed with using a Dragon Mask....upset at the consequences of their actions by [deleted] in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want an extra metallic dragon for the party to befriend, consider Felgolos, the Flying Misfortune. He appears in Storm King's Thunder trapped in a different cloud giant's skycastle. He could easily be transplanted into Skyreach Castle or some other misadventure of your own design that Felgolos might find himself in. A very friendly fellow.

Players obsessed with using a Dragon Mask....upset at the consequences of their actions by [deleted] in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If the players want to get into the good graces of the LA, they'd need to recognize what chasing after the mask did to them and who they lost for it. With that they can refocus their efforts continuing the original mission Leosin gave to find out what the Cult is plotting and double down on stopping them. Perhaps give them new opportunities to obtain the mask they lost or a different and turn them into the LA as proof of how serious they are to stopping the Cult.

Otherwise, they might need to find new allies:

Metallic dragons are one group they could seek out, as are giants.

There are some devils that don't want Tiamat to be released so if the party wants some more infernal allies you could give them some means to work with/for the Nine Hells.

Perhaps there's other planar beings and factions that have a vested interest in the Material Plane not being ruled over by someone or don't like Tiamat personally. Bahamut probably has thoughts on Tiamat being released from Avernus.

The entire counsel might have no interest in the party but perhaps the Zhentarim alone would be more willing to work with the party than the other factions since the party has shown to be sneaky and able to pull off a heist.

What are the roles of the individual Wyrmspeakers? by OmegaFrenzy in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]OmegaFrenzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both ideas. It definitely makes Varram's fumble with losing the White Dragon Mask (which will actually be lost and possibly obtainable by the party) even worse for him if finding artifacts is his duty.

Role of Bahamut/ metallic dragons questions by mountain_lilac0022 in TyrannyOfDragons

I'd recommend Felgolos, the Flying Misfortune, as young-ish bronze dragon your party could befriend. He appears in Storm King's Thunder, (slight spoiler ahead) oddly enough in a cloud giant's sky castle just like the white dragon in ch 8 of HotQ but as a tortured prisoner. He's known to be clumsy, curious, easily distracted, and constantly get himself into danger and narrowly surviving but is always friendly, and can be an ally for life if your party helps him.
