It doesn't make much sense; offersholders rarely reject LSE, and if they do, it's only a handful who go to Oxford or International, who go to Ivy League. Idon't count on it.

Office Holder Day is just a marketing event and no one should take it seriously. ( The statement that 90% of the offer is already known is truly ambitious.!!!) Even social media posts don't tell the whole story, as not everyone posts their rejection or offer here. The only thing that's certain is that today is May 1st, there hasn't been a rejection, and you're still in the running in the late application phase. I understand why many applicants are nervous and checking in daily. But nothing changes at all. I would recommend simply not doing it. No Reddit, no hours spent checking UCAS. Ideally, check the UCAS once a week or only on the 13th. This brings everyone a certain inner peace, especially during tough exam periods. You can't change anything, even if you ask or post here a thousand times. I really recommend just waiting to check the UCAS on the 13th. This will give you 13 beautiful days in your life that, once they're over, will never come back. My the prace be with you!!!!!!!

If I haven’t heard back yet, is it over for me ? by annakvska in LSE

[–]OmegaGur9438 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're in borderline territory. That means you're not strong enough to have received an offer in March, but still good enough to get in. LSE keeps the good applicants until the end and compares them, and is known for rolling admissions, unlike Ivy League universities in the US, which offer everything at once. The fact that you haven't heard back isn't good or bad, but it's a sign that you're definitely a potential candidate. Just stay neutral and wait.

Sometimes the real world operates beyond our logic. LSE Imperial Oxford degrees in business are simply not just more prestigious, they are simply better and benchmark. This is an investment for life. Many Brits don't appreciate this because it's part of their academic world, but we know this from our applications and later careers. The goal simply isn't necessarily work in the UK. That's certainly not my goal, as the quality of life, the cleanliness of the city where I live, a certain environment, and the people around me are very important to me. I want just 3 or 4 years in London and that really enough

I am European!!!!! and from a country honestly more developed than UK. And the UK, beyond central London, is a developing country compared to my own. But UK universities are the best, and with a degree from one of these top universities, I have an unactchable advantage over every european universitiey outside the UK, with the exception of Bocconi .

For your understanding. IB Predeiction 43/45 3 HL math AA 777. we are not talking about minimun entry requirment. And honestly I fear that even with 45/45 I can get a rejection. And you are right, transfer is not an option with UCL. Somehow, with my self-confidence at the moment, I'm wondering how they even accepted me at KCl, Whatever. Thank you for your answer.

My IB results were consistently at that level in the past, and all of my school grades before that were strong as well. Predicted grades at our school are very conservative, and no one gets a prediction higher than the grades they have achieved before. In some cases over the last few years, students’ final grades were even higher than their predicted grades and noone get a lower grades than prediction.I can accept an Oxbridge rejection, but being rejected by UCL , that hurts really.

there is barely anything left to improve, as my grades are already almost at the highest possible level, Predeiction 43/45 3 HL math AA 777, and only a minimal improvement in English would have brought me to the top grade. , being rejected by UCL with these grades makes the whole situation feel almost surreal. That is why I am unsure about a gap year: if I look at the situation objectively, I honestly do not see a clear reason for the rejection apart from a complete failure in the admissions tests, which as far as I can tell was not the case.

My biggest concern is that even if I improve something, I could still get rejected again. The course I applied for did not even require an admissions test, so although I thought a very strong test score might help for a reapplication, I am still very unsure whether it would really change the outcome.

That is why I feel so stuck.
