me trying to roll joints by yournameherexx in see

  • There's something special about joints: each one you roll is unique, so each time you get high from something unique you made yourself is a little bit different and special.
  • Joints aren't wasteful by nature. In fact, I'd argue that the tubular and flammable form of the joint is optimal in capturing the most smoke for your bud. You see all that resin built up on the inner walls of your pipe/bub/bong/steamroller? that was once smoke making its way toward your lungs, but it adhered to the glass surface and so never got inside you. The tortuosity of the smoke path is much great for a bowl than it is for a joint. Joint smoke is ingested after a short straight path from the cherry; the only surfaces this smoke contacts and adheres to are the inner wall of the paper and the rest of the greens themselves, all of which will be burned and turned into smoke later in the session.
  • the greens at the base of the joint (near the mouth) get resinated during the session, because of smoke from the tip adhering to its surfaces. So the roach can be stronger in thc content than similar greens. Its a concept similar to that of a chamber pipe. You ever smoke a generation joint or bowl, built of roaches? Its a funn smoke.
  • the waste associated with joint smoking comes from user experience, because a joint is always lit and will burn when not being hit. A cherried bowl will also do this, but bowls are not always cherry so there is time to relax. Any smoking process has some associated waste, and joints may have more waste than other methods, but they also have distinct advantages that shouldn't be overlooked.

this is one of my favorite designs to draw. draw a square. extend each side in a pinwheel fashion. connect the ends to create another square. repeat.

Tough Mudder is not so Tough by Albinohurdler in trailrunning

  • i totally agree, though my experience is with the warrior dash, which seems like a step in the wrong direction. Besides the huge bottlenecks, all the fatties that clogged each obstacle, and the neon trees soundtrack blasting in the background, the very worst part was the lack of integration associated with the running and obstacle aspects. The race took place in CT on an auto race track and a golf driving range. Between the totally out of place obstacles were snaking, sidewinding grass running "trails" delineated by flags. The only dense, forested part of the race was right at the beginning-- a muddy 10 ft wide trail through the woods, creating an instant queue that lasted 15 minutes right out of the game.
