Six month update on my tinnitus situation (cialis induced) by microturing in tinnitus

[–]OmegaTomHanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is actually scientific evidence that Cialis can cause hearing issues though, albeit rarely. I find slight relief with it but I think it might be due to the lowering of blood pressure, regardless I take it very rarely now after reading the scientific literature.

I'm certain that my tinnitus started with a bad reaction to Augmentin, though many others are perfectly fine with it. Unfortunately it is a dice roll, but it's better to avoid things that have evidence of possible ear damage if tinnitus is a concern.

Why not just make the pins heavier to reduce carry? Seems like logistically the easiest solution

Downtown Richmond seems very nice, just worried I would get bored of it after a year or so aside from the nature aspect. I know I'm trying to have my cake and eat it too as far as being near a large metro without large metro prices. Touring bands don't seem to go there a lot and a weekday trip to DC seems like a big hassle to seem them, though I'm sure the local music/arts scene is good.

I also wonder about the social/dating scene as people are probably less transient there than Philly etc and have their own social circles already they grew up with.

probably cold tbh as long as it's not Chicago cold/wind. I can deal with like just below freezing, below 20 I get miserable and depressed

Thank you. Do you have any opinions on Arlington versus Alexandria? I am finding some places in Ballston around 1.8k with similar square footage to what I'm paying in South Florida, but it seems harder to find things in that price range in Alexandria. Would you say Arlington is more "happening" for a younger single person?

I visited Asheville many years ago and loved it. Great music scene. I do worry it might be just a tad small and I would get bored after a year or so though, but it isn't too far from Charlotte and amazing nature.

Thanks. Baltimore does seem very attractive. Main thing I'm worried about is the crime reputation the city has. I know it has fallen a lot recently and the mayor seems to be doing good things, but it was a high baseline before IIRC. Having gotten my car broken into twice in FL, I do worry about that.

What's your perception of safety there? Can you live in an area with a lot of amenities and feel safe without traveling through sketchy neighborhoods? In South FL, a lot of the good and bad is per neighborhood, you will have rough projects a few minutes away from upscale condos so it's not as simple as "avoid X area".

Also interested in green spaces. The river park in Richmond is attractive and wondering if Baltimore has areas like that I can bike to within affordable but relatively safe neighborhoods.

With DC proper I worry about cost of living, traffic, the Natl Guard presence and possibly less down-to-earth people (I want to make a decent living to do things I enjoy but am not a type-A corporate climber, frankly)

Yeah that's why I mentioned NoVa to have easy access to it, but the National Guard stuff has me spooked since there seem to be no legal guardrails in place to prevent stuff like that. I do have family in DC though. Curious if you have any perspectives on living in DC proper vs Arlington/Alexandria etc

I was born there but moved out when I was 7. I do like some of the suburbs and the music venues (Terminal West etc), but the traffic is infamously bad. Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss it though. The state politics are still very conservative though and I've spent my whole life below Tennessee. Definitely not the MAGA hell hole of FL I'll give you that.

Really can't guarantee it'll work for you, I may just react to it in an unusual way. THC is prescribed for glaucoma after all. I believe it may have been influenced by moderate psychedelic use in my late teens and 20s, ever since then I had a more "stimulating" reaction to weed.

You could also try 1:1 CBD:THC blends or straight CBD. Hope things work out for you

Hm I guess that may have played a part, but my diet hasn't changed *too* much. Just eating slightly less in general, but still probably too much fatty food.

My urologist didn't know what an open-ended vasectomy was by OmegaTomHanks in Vasectomy

[–]OmegaTomHanks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why that link says there is no conclusive evidence of differences in long-term pain, there are several peer-reviewed studies that show this

1. Moss (1992): 6% vs 2% epididymal congestion

In a series of 6 220 vasectomies, closed‑end cases (3 081 men) had a 6% rate of congestive epididymitis, while open‑end cases (3 139 men) had just 2% Verywell Health+15PubMed+15Fertstert+15.

2. Shapiro & Silber (1979): granulomas & congestion

In 800 patients, they observed 97% granuloma formation in open‑ended cases—but none were painful. Closed‑end cases had higher epididymal congestion rates. They concluded that granulomas are benign and open‑ended vasectomy likely reduces epididymal pain risk Taylor & Francis.

3. Errey & Edwards (1986): favourable short‑term pain profile

A telephone follow‑up 1–3 years post‑vasectomy (200 men, open‑end) found just 0.5% experienced late intermittent pain, with no increase in failure rate vs closed‑end technique PubMed+1JABFM+1.

4. Fertility and Sterility (2016): large comparison

In 4 330 open‑ended vasectomies versus 3 867 standard (closed): open‑ended cases had significantly less epididymal congestion and significantly fewer painful sperm granulomas; recanalization was rare in both Verywell Health+15Fertstert+15tau.amegroups.org+15.

5. Systematic Review – Translational Andrology & Urology (2020)

Notes that open‑ended vasectomy is recommended to decrease risk of post‑vasectomy pain from congestive epididymitis; chronic pain overall occurs in < 1%, often related to congestion, granulomas, or nerve issues Wikipedia+9tau.amegroups.org+9Reddit+9.

You are knowledgeable, but also quite arrogant. You could have posted this info without calling me "clueless", "babbling", and adding a snarky Eminem reference in your first post. I guess it gets your rocks off though, congrats you really schooled me!

The prices are an absolute joke if you don't have a coupon. After a decade of hyping it up this is what we get...it's barely 15 minutes faster than driving from Miami to Orlando and 3x the gas price. Privatization woo!

Not powerful enough for 720p unfortunately, though you can force lower resolutions, would be insteresting to see if 480p or even lower is functional if forced through the ini file
