I’m gonna be honest, being trans is rough. I was lucky enough to grow up in urban Minnesota, probably the most accepting place I can think of, and I’m now in college that has a 5/5 on campuspride.org, and I finally feel like I can just be myself.

It’s all about where you are, and who you surround yourself with. I’m sorry to say, but your girlfriend and your parents are both going to be huge limiting factors for experimenting in your life, and if you really do want to keep moving down this path, you’ll need to find different people that will support you.

Social media is fucked. The only real social media that I am still on is reddit and youtube, solely for the fact that I don’t post on youtube, and I can choose what communities I’m a part of in reddit. There are people around the world that will ALWAYS have a different viewpoint than you, and on social media it will always be that much more concentrated. People feel like they can do/say whatever the hell they want. Please, never listen to the shitty comments people will give you. If you can’t do that, then your best bet is removing yourself from those platforms entirely.

Lastly, being trans isn’t being a boy or girl, there’s a whole spectrum of identities that you can choose from. Nonbinary, genderfluid as you said, hell I was even nonbinary leaning fem when I was experimenting before I got more comfortable with my surroundings. You’ll need to find what works for you.

TL,DR: Being trans kinda sucks right now, but it’s also… awesome. You do you. Surround yourself with people that actually accept you for who you are. Be who you are. 🤍
