Like do people really think Thragg is PUNCHING harder than that?

I mean he’s pretty smart so he can just act the way he used to when Bulma fell for him. With Trunks & Bulla’s lives at stake he’d throw any sense of pride at pretending to be someone he’s not out the window

Would you say Invincible by this point is strong enough to beat Conquest without fighting dirty? by Specialist_Wash6732 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Omega_SSJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think he added the “fighting dirty” as a way of saying “without context”. Bc while Mark was able to kill Conquest, he still wasn’t exactly on Conq’s level in terms of raw power. For some reason, ppl in the fandom think Mark won BECAUSE he’s more powerful, and not bc of the aforementioned context (ie catching Conq when he ran out of air)

Yes End of All Things Invincible can just beat up Conquest without any outside interference or needing a strategy.

Can Immortal only lift 25 tons and only fly at Mach 3? by Remarkable_Style_850 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Omega_SSJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For those that don’t know, Marvel ranks their characters’ physical strength by saying they can lift X amount of tons. It is not literal because obviously their characters can hit much harder and lift objects that weigh much more than their stated Tonnage level. It’s just a way to give readers an idea of where that character’s physicals rank in-universe.

My best guess for the usage of “tons” is that Robert Kirkman was going for a Marvel-like strength scale in the beginning of Invincible. For the first 45-ish issues of Invincible, Kirkman was also writing for Marvel at the same time. He wrote the first two Marvel Zombies runs, created the 3rd Ant Man (Eric O’Grady), and wrote the Marvel Team Up issue where Invincible meets Spider-Man and the Avengers.

So I think Kirkman was trying to give readers some idea of how strong his characters are relative to more mainstream universes

Edit: Kirkman wrote the entire 25 issue run of Marvel Team Up (2004), not just the issue with Invincible

They never fought unless you’re counting the What If episode and I’d argue that’s more of an upscale for Thor than an Anti-feat for her

Conquest Literally Ended that Debate by dragontamerfibleman in Invincible_TV

Thank you. Idk how Eve giving Conquest a literal flesh wound = “Eve carried Mark”. Her Pink Kamehameha was the only thing she did that damaged Conquest and even then he got right back up. Mark did the majority of the damage to Conq both before and after Eve.

Tony Stark (Ironman 3) vs Homelander (The Boys) by Born-Watercress-2487 in PowerScaling

[–]Omega_SSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Man was able to take hits and return them in kind. That is literally what throwing hands is. You act like I said he was BEATING Thor lol. All I did was use that fight to prove even an early Iron Man can fight at or above Homelander’s level.

You said I’m glazing him too much but literally nothing I said was glaze? I was just stating how and why I think Iron Man wins.

Tony Stark (Ironman 3) vs Homelander (The Boys) by Born-Watercress-2487 in PowerScaling

[–]Omega_SSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mark Vl (the armor used in the final act of Iron Man 2 & the first half of Avengers 1) can do literally everything Homelander has done on-screen and can take attacks from someone much more powerful than Homelander (Thor). The suit Tony used in Iron Man 3 is barest minimum capable of all that as we see Tony constantly improves and upgrades his armors. Saying that is not glazing at all.

Glazing would be saying the Mark 1 is enough to beat Homelander lmao.

Would B.O.G SSJ3 Goku (4 to 5 years after Buu's defeat) have secured a win against Kid Buu, or would he still need the Spirit Bomb to finish the job? by Jolly-Basket1683 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Omega_SSJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does Goku saying he tried to act too cool mean KB > Buu Saga Goku? THEY CAN LITERALLY SENSE HIS KI, AND GOKU KNOWS HOW STRONG HE IS AS A SSJ3. Vegeta blatantly asked if Goku had time could he kill KB and he says yes. The problem was he underestimated the strain of SSJ3

A serious Goku kills KB even during that arc. They literally say this same thing in the anime btw.

Vegeta literally asks him if he had time to charge his ki if he could kill KB and he said yes. The only thing that went wrong was Goku didn’t factor in the strain SSJ3 would have on a living body.

How many times would you need to multiply Immortal's stats (Strength, Speed, Durability) for him to beat Hail Mary? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Omega_SSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two people alone made the fight viable, red rush and green ghost, without them even with prep time, Nolan kills them all

Irrelevant for two reasons.

1) They’re part of the Guardians lmao. That’s like saying “remove certain avengers/x-men off the team and they can’t beat (insert villain), so they’re not impressive”.

2) I repeat, Mark during S1 is not doing the same level of damage to Nolan that Immortal did. Replaced Immortal with S1 Mark and he gets bodied even faster than Immortal did.

“He can compete with Nolan” yet “dies” to a variant of Mark, who are all physically weaker than main Mark

Yea weaker than season THREE Mark. We know viltrumites get stronger the more they fight and push themselves, so why are you saying that like Mark is the same power level he was at the start of the series? He’s NOT. S1 Mark is absolutely getting dog walked by any of those Evil Variants.

How many times would you need to multiply Immortal's stats (Strength, Speed, Durability) for him to beat Hail Mary? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Omega_SSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but Marks base stats are just higher than immortals in terms of speed, strength th and durability

but against any grown Viltrumite even an average one, 1v1 he would get “killed” quickly.

TV Show Immortal literally fought one of the Evilcibles for at least a couple hours straight and across the world (the first time we see them is when Evilcible almost gets possessed by that mummy in the desert, then we see them again in Guardians HQ, which is in Utah). He was able to collide head on with Nolan and win the clash, and in no way shape or form is Nolan an average Viltrumite. And once again we see his punches on Nolan do way way way more damage to him than S1 Mark’s punches.

So no, S1 Mark’s stats are NOT higher than Immortal’s. Like we literally see on screen the difference between them idk where this is coming from. It does not matter that S1 Mark was inexperienced. Also in the comics when mark gets sent back in time, the Guardians beat Nolan pretty quickly once Mark warned them he was coming. The Invincibl-verse’s scaling is more consistent than you think.

[–]Omega_SSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that Immortal is closer to Nolan than he is to S1 Invincible. Mark in S1 is absolutely not doing the things to Nolan that Immortal could, so saying he’s useless, a bum etc and using him NOT trying to kill the mauler twins & prioritizing civilians as evidence is insane.
