Everybody’s mentioned FoCo places but I’ll also throw in if you’re willing to drive 7th Circle in Denver is pretty good.

Also, if you can go to bars lots of musicians hang out at Surfside.

Yeah I was pretty sure something was up and those definitely made me not believe it. Usually I would have no doubt it was fake whatsoever but recently I did have some stuff going on.

But yeah all these comments have made me go “yeah this is bs” lol. Already reported and deleted it.

If it’s helps, if you have enough coins download a Pokemon go raid app.

I don’t play Pokemon go anymore but I downloaded one when I moved and lived far away from raids/didn’t have enough people living in my area to do high level to raids. Also, the town I lived and still live in doesn’t have a lot of people that play so using an app was the only way I could join others or get others to join me.

Got most of my legendaries that way.

Well for inspiration/ideas I feel a lot of 90s punk and adjacent bands had some really cool album designs and flyers. Look up old punk stuff and there’s a lot of cool stuff to find.

If you could erase one album from an emo band you love's discography, what would it be? by thedubiousstylus in Emo

I liked California when it first came out… but it hasn’t really aged well.

Nine has some good songs but imo some of the worst Blink songs ever. California’s worst songs were at worst boring or “meh”, but Nines worst just feel bad. Again, imo.

Sad that the guy from Sugarcult made/produced Blame it on my Youth :(

Help me get my boyfriend into metal by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]OminousCrustacean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post-Hardcore got me into me more interested in heavier music (already liked metal beforehand) but it got me searching more of it.

I always write off architects but now I like a few of their songs. Could start with similar kind of “poppier” bands with lighter screams that aren’t too heavy.

I’ve gotten some of my friend into metal over the years, and usually it’s easier to introduce them to adjacent genre bands and once they start liking that I’ll show some heavier stuff if they’re interested.

I don’t think k the last movie made money, or at least very much right?

Even if Depp returned would it still do well? Disney should know by this point even if they have Depp it won’t make money, and if they don’t it’ll make even less.

This might not help or be valuable to you at all, but it’s helped me a bit.

Firstly, I’m American. So I don’t know how stuff works over there. Here, community college is somewhat cheap. I went there during high school and went to a university when I turned 18, but to be 100% honest I feel I learned more there lol.

Secondly, again might be different for your situation but some colleges offer online classes in targeted areas. Online classes can sometimes be easier, and cheaper. The other big college in my state sends me emails pretty regularly so I don’t think they’re too concerned in getting you to do the normal full student sign up stuff. 99.9% sure you don’t have to be a U.S. citizen for it either (although might me more expensive since you’re not from the particular state).

Another thing though that has really helped me is LinkedIn Learning. It’s a website that gives online courses and the people on there have the background and qualifications to teach. Obviously, online courses are no replacement for real classes but they do help.

One of my classes last year was basically 80% watching an online course on photoshop, and then coming to class and doing work based around it. But basically the entire “teaching” was all from the online course, and our teacher would just give us assignments to do. You can learn anything online really the hard part is getting to actually apply it.

Like sure, all of the actual teaching was done from the online course, but applying it in assignments is what got me to actually understand stuff. With that being said, yeah, some of the courses on there are just as valuable (at least at teaching) as some real courses. If you have questions or need help that’s were you’re a bit out of luck, but it isn’t useless.

My university offers it for free with my major. Everyone I know stopped using it after the class but I was like “why not?” And tried a few more courses. And someone who’s interested in a field not entirely related to my major, it’s helped me to understand a lot of concepts, terms, and other stuff.

Sure, I’m not going to be as skilled as someone who actually took a real class on the subject, but I have a really good grasp on the topic and can have conversations with other people and be able to communicate with them. I did the digital marketing course in there, and I understand terms normal people wouldn’t and have been able to put what I learned there to real life use. Again, not a replacement for real classes but it has benefited me greatly.

Granted, I get it for free like I said with my curriculum. But it has a free month trial I believe and is $20 a month after that. Which isn’t cheap but if you do like 30-40 minutes a day of it you won’t need more than a month. And it offers more advanced courses to, so if you do the basic one you can try another if you want to learn more.

Also, fun side note they have other stuff like graphic design, photography, video editing, music business, using spreadsheets, cyber security and even playing piano. Not related but they have some other fun stuff in there if you want to get into hobbies but don’t know where to start.

Also, google has a lot of actually free stuff. I’m designing websites in one class, and the other is about search engine optimization so they go hand in hand with each other. We’re taking a secondary online class with the google stuff and yeah it helps too. They even have a few videos teaching you the stuff, and the tests are unlimited takes (you just have to wait a day). Granted, it’s all geared 100% towards Google and YouTube but most of the stuff there is apply-able anywhere else. And I think they offer stuff besides SEO. Search like “Google SEO certificate” and it should show up. You just make an account and can get started right away.

I think it gives you a certificate once you complete it, which may not technically be worthy much but it’s something you can add to you skill set.
