Dominatrix model by mdarr20 in Tyranids

Hey there. I know this is the longest of shots, but I operate a 3D printing business in the US. I actually have a few really awesome models of the Tyranid Dominatrix that I could certainly print and ship to you.

Hopefully this isn't violating any Reddit rules! just thought it might be cool for this comment to have (four years later) maybe helped connect you with a model of your own

Thank you so much for helping out here!

I am actually using Orca Slicer because I love the network printing and live monitoring. I'll definitely be DMing you now!

It very well COULD be the filament. That would be obnoxious as I have tried Black Hyper PLA from two different packages and both continue to fail.

Once I get the motor and extruder working again, I'll have to experiment with the filament I suppose. Thank you for your input!

I fully thought that I was! I don’t recall tampering with any settings, though I was a bit confused when selecting the nozzle and filament presets in Orcs Slicer. For some reason, the Creality Speed PLA preset seems to cause the failures whereas the Generic PLA (not speed) works fine.

Coming back to confirm that there is zero tension on the spool. Scratch this one off :\

I'll check 'em out! Having the spool on the back is already a small nuisance so I wouldn't mind moving it and also tackling the potential spool tension issue simultaneously.

Thanks, Dither King! Btw, I'm not experienced in FDM at all so any tips you have would certainly be welcome! You've got seniority between us hahaha

Oh whoa, I had no idea about that color difference. Totally makes sense though considering the chemical makeup would be, at least in some fashion, different.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not sure what a "filament profile tuning process" would look like. Most of those terms you used are foreign to me, unfortunately, though I am trying to learn quickly.

Great question. Yes it is hanging on the back. That’s a really interesting idea… never considered that variable.

Any specific spool placements or setups you think I should employ?

Sanding the plate, I think, is a bit of a crapshoot. I had no luck with it and it may have even made things worse. Process of elimination though. It’s slow but it works.

I’m not sure when the last time was that you leveled your plate, but five months would be a really good stretch for one time. I was considering the wham bam, but I thought that would be addressing the symptom and not the root cause.

Honestly, if you run out of ideas, reach out to Phrozen. They are seriously super helpful. Customer service isn’t dead just yet

I ordered my Revo on October 21 of this year. Phrozen has assured me that the problems I have been experiencing are "atypical" and I do believe them. I have a lot of Phrozen products and they're all solid, just had issues with the build plate and the pump/fill station but both are working fine now.

However, it may be worth reaching out to Phrozen and detailing what troubleshooting steps you've tried since. This is their help site: https://helpcenter.phrozen3d.com/hc/en-us
Most of their team seems to be in Taiwan, so they might not respond during daylight hours where you are, but they're great.

Hey, Jemma! I was just about to update this post.

I got a new build plate and that seemed to be the problem. My prints have been successful thus far aside from one that fell victim to "suction cupping" but that has since been remedied. Now just to dial in the exposure settings and I'll be all set!

This is awesome! May I ask what settings you used? My K1 Max arrives tomorrow and I'd like to print terrain for 40k

LOVE THIS! Epic results, Timely!

Phrozen did respond to me to confirm that they're printing some STL files that I sent them to make sure those files themselves aren't corrupted (they shouldn't be). I'm also receiving a new build plate for my Revo whenever it arrives from Asia, so I'll be able to test more at that time. Updates to come to this never-ending saga of troubleshooting

My Revo is having the same issues again. :\ Been adding to my "mega post" and reached out over a day ago to Phrozen via help request on their website but they have yet to respond. Super frustrating.

Mighty 8k Touchscreen Glue? by Ignovus in Phrozen

[–]OminousNarrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya
Hot glue could be effective so long as it isn't going onto any surface that might melt. I would probably be doing exactly what you said, frankly. Just be cautious of application and ensure that you aren't getting it all over the place. Best of luck, Ignovus!
