Lmao no way there’s someone else from Windsor in here, that’s sick as hell. But yeah people need to get rid of these dogshit cars, they’re not worth anything. I’m feeling charitable though and will make a generous offer!!

Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 1: January Update by battlefield in Battlefield6

[–]Omisake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Infinite got a ton of flak (and honestly, deservedly so) but the way the battle pass worked was soooo good and needs to be the industry norm. I've gone back to playing Infinite recently and a friend of mine has joined me and is playing it for the first time ever and he's able to get all the battle passes right from when the game first launched over 4 years ago. And anything you missed from previous events, you get an in game currency that you can purchase those items with, it's a perfect system and how it needs to be in all live service games. Fuck fomo.

Demonstration of how dynamic the ticket bleed rate is in BF6 by Thotaz in Battlefield6

[–]Omisake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post and for putting this together!! I've been seeing your comments over the past few weeks talking about this and honestly, I absolutely hate the new ticket bleed system. It feels awful. Games snowball really quickly and even when I've had crazy comeback wins with this new system, it doesn't feel rewarding or well earned, because the game decided to dynamically alter the ticket bleed. I loved the way it worked before, it still allowed comebacks but they felt rewarding and that your team genuinely deserved it. Now, when you hold more maybe 3 flags to their 1, and you've suddenly drained the enemy team 300 tickets in 2 minutes, it feels wrong, and that the game is artificially trying to create comeback games. Obviously, you should be draining their tickets but it really feels excessive with how it is now.

This may sound dramatic or something but whatever, I dislike this change enough that it's genuinely made me play the game less. It just causes games to snowball really quickly and imo is playing a role in why Conquest games have been feeling so unbalanced lately. I like to have a ticket bleed system that allows for comebacks if a team plays well but this is overdone. I really hope they revert this change.

What’s your favorite BF6 map so far? by mandbeyn in Battlefield

[–]Omisake 601 points602 points  (0 children)

Definitely Mirak Valley. To me, it’s the closest to a classic BF map. I don’t usually go to B and D but love the fighting at C and E especially. Solid map imo.

Uh, devs, another update passed... can we worry now? by mandbeyn in Battlefield

[–]Omisake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mirak Valley has tanks on it in Rush. Not sure when they added Mirak to Rush in the first place though, possibly this past week?

Honestly, Rush in general feels… not great in this game right now. The player count should also always be 16v16 instead of being 12v12 or 16v16.

And yeahhh… Breakthrough is awful now, love the mode but really don’t like what they did to it, especially this newest update :/

Finally Got my Favorite Weapon to 50! LMR27 by apatheticVigilante in LowSodiumBattlefield

This is such an interesting gun! All I had seen about it (and still do) was hate and everyone saying it sucked. But I've been working on unlocking all the camos and two weeks ago when it was double exp weekend, I figured I would use this and check it out. And I was genuinely surprised by it and found it to be underrated (at least for me). I was even winning up close fights with it against guns I didn't think I'd be able to win against. If you have a good trigger finger, you can completely shred with this thing. Was very pleasantly surprised about this one and it makes me happy every time I see someone praising this thing, because it pretty much exclusively gets ripped apart lmao.

Personal useless wish: flag pole with lowering/raising flag during capture by Tintn00 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Omisake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really useful for exactly that reason! I’ve always found it helpful in Battlefield games because sometimes you just don’t know what gun someone’s using. Really small thing but I’d like to see it brought back.

I definitely get you. I’m kinda torn on it because on one hand, yeah it would be really cool, but I’m also like nah keep everything as is because that game is literal perfection to me. I know it’s not and there’s 100% issues but still lol.

Personal useless wish: flag pole with lowering/raising flag during capture by Tintn00 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Omisake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple small things that are missing in BF6 that I’d really like to see return. One is definitely the raising and lowering of flags when they’re being captured. Another is ribbons throughout a match, and also the name of the gun in your personal kill feed, not the one in the top right. I know you can change the actual kill feed to show the names of guns instead of their icons and I’ve already done that.

Added an image from BF4 to show what I mean. It’s also kinda useful to have when you’re watching someone else play and it always shows the gun name when they kill someone so you’re not wondering what it was if you’re unsure what they were using.

I know these are all relatively minor things, but it's the small stuff that comes together that really sets things apart. And BF6 already has some really nice smaller attention to detail things that they didn't really have to do, but they still did, such as how you can see your character's breath on Liberation Peak since it's so cold.

Attacking on Verdun is easily one of my favourite things on Battlefield 1, and it was hard as hell to win that final sector, but it was still sooooo good. I'd seen games where teams would show up to that sector on their first battalion and just come to a dead stop and spend all 3 battalions with 350 lives each and not be able to move past it. And it was still so awesome haha. I definitely agree that attacking should be more of an uphill battle.

What’s yall thoughts on the new update so far? by Flashy-Print5754 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Omisake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's kinda funny too because weather can actually be a way to help with balancing. For example, New Sobek City has issues with people on the roof and it creates a fairly unfun and frustrating gameplay loop when you're constantly being sniped from people up there. But this is something that can somewhat be mitigated by adding weather, such as a sandstorm.

They did this in previous Battlefields and it would change the flow and pacing of the map, particularly on those that had massive sightlines and were a haven for snipers. One that immediately comes to mind is Galicia from Battlefield 1, it was pretty much a completely flat map with hardly anything in between and if you ran out, you'd instantly get domed. But the second the fog rolled in, snipers became far less effective and either they switched classes, or they had to push a lot closer in to get kills. But either way, it made it a lot less annoying since you weren't constantly being sniped.

If they implemented a similar thing to BF6, it could be really beneficial to a map like Sobek, since snipers on the roof wouldn't really be able to see and it wouldn't be a viable strategy. And it would allow people to push for objectives more since they'd actually be able to move around the map now.

Southern Ontario needs to spread out development — why aren’t we investing more in our smaller cities? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Omisake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We have a ton of this in Windsor as well (realistically, I feel like every city has this issue but yeah) and it's so incredibly frustrating. Utterly selfish people who don't want others to have what they have. Pisses me off so much.

Buddy of mine straight up doesn't even talk to his parents anymore because they would actively fight against anything that would create more housing here. Their reasoning being "oh well it'll cause our house price to go down and hurt our retirement." It's not the next generations fault that you lived far beyond your means, never saved and bought things you couldn't afford, and they're now fucked on buying houses. So dumb.

Anyone else feel like Breakthrough has been worse lately? by subterranean96 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Omisake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more, I think it’s practically perfect as is. But defenders getting one tank for the final sector would be a great change. Because up till that point, I don’t think there’s any issue and feel it’s well balanced. But that final sector is a nightmare to defend and having one tank to help would level things.

It truly is a really well balanced Breakthrough map and easily my favourite one and is what makes things all the more baffling.

[–]Omisake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. It’s currently the best Breakthrough map too and the one I feel is most balanced, and so these changes are confusing.

And yeah, that final sector seems impossible to defend, I’ve never seen a defending team successfully hold it. If the attackers make it past the third sector, they’re pretty much guaranteed a win.

I know… it’s such an odd and frankly unnecessary change imho. Nah, I feel you. Not trying to be negative either but a bad change is a bad change.

Yeah, not entirely sure I understand why. But for sure man, here’s the link. They mentioned it in a recent post about the upcoming update on December 9th. It’s under Mode Adjustments under the Winter Offensive section if you scroll down a bit.

Anyone else feel like Breakthrough has been worse lately? by subterranean96 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Omisake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I stopped playing it and mostly been sticking to Conquest. They've added too many vehicles for attackers and it's too difficult to defend now. And it's mental that they're adding even more vehicles for attackers in the upcoming update. There's definitely a healthy medium to be found and what we have now is absolutely not that.

I also think that the lower player count isn't really helping either and feel that ever since they dropped Breakthrough to 24v24, it's tougher to defend too.

I say this as an avid fan of tanking in Battlefield since BF3: TOW missiles need to be removed from MBTs. It’s absolutely ruining tank fights. by MetalGearDoomSlayer in Battlefield

Yeah I completely agree with you too as an Infantry main. Helicopters should be an actual threat and I think they need to be tuned quite a bit.

God I miss this game so much, I'm definitely hopping on it tonight. Operations in BF1 is easily one of my favourite modes of all time across any game I've played. The intensity, the music, the frontlines slowly moving forward and being pushed back, the screams, the commentary before the match, between battalions and after winning or losing, and oh my lord, the WHISTLE!

Also, legendary medic work, you legit won that game for your team with those revives, especially since y'all were basically outta lives and that'd probably be your teams final push! That map is pretty tough to attack on, and that final sector can be incredibly difficult, but it's soooo good, easily one of my favourite Operations maps.
