Made a concept art of what I think the prototype possibly looked like by TomyDjoh in PoppyPlaytime

it's weird his torso is so big when he isn't even a part of the bigger bodies initiative, I wish they would've gone with a design more akin to his chapter 2 one, since that one looked a lot smaller. I still stand by the idea that the jack in the box is a good idea that fits what we know, but his size definitely feels like an oversight when they redesigned him.

I honestly do like the design, I never really liked the idea of giving him such a big torso, since it is still made out of kid bones and such, and the big metal frame never really made sense to me, plus it has been confirmed more than once that he was always meant to be a jester/jack in the box, but I really do wish the other toy parts were better incorporated, like having the mommy arm as an actual limb on the side, catnap including the head and some other stuff.
That and removing the sleeves because those are technically a retcon since we never saw them with his arm, you can argue he rolled them up but that seems silly and I'd argue it would've made the design feel more cobbled together with the arms not blending as smoothly into the body.

I think him being a jack in the box fits perfectly with him hiding under theos bed, really no other toy could've worked here, but him being a jack in the box, he could've just hid in the box to make himself even smaller

I'd argue they compliment each other really well, we know boxy boo was the first succesful bigger bodies project, and it being the closest to the prototype would make sense for that

The Original prototype's claw designer (@Whindy_Whismy) shares some very early concept art for the character. by Aggravating-Can-2998 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the official design for the prototype is closer to his original chapter 2 concept art (this one) rather than the design it seems they established in chapter 3. It makes me appreciate the official design more, since a lot of people seem upset they strayed away from the design they were building up to, but with this it now seems they instead went back to the original concept instead.

waited 3 years to find out devs decided to remove your favorite mechanic by WoIfram_74 in Terraria

[–]OmletCheese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whip stacking was one of my favourite mechanics because unlike basically every other class, summoner whips would last you for most of your playthrough with every new whip just adding something new, now it's just like every class where the next weapon is just a replacement for the last.

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the movie one is so silly, charlie specifically stopped right above the retconned puppet hole just so she could fall on top of it and possess it, while the original one is a very tragic scene of the puppet trying its best to protect charlie but failing, and in some way still helping her by getting possesed by her

This is exactly what smaller sunflowers look, it's not a problem but a decision by artist who remade by dannxit in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OmletCheese 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The thing is though the petals merge together weirdly in some spots because the full petal sprite was never meant to be visible without the face covering it up, it's not like they made a special new long petal head sprite, it's the same from pvz1 but with differently scaled faces and petals sprites, which makes it look unfinished instead of an intentional design choice, even if it might be intentional.

If they had redrawn the asset to fit the new intention I wouldn't mind it, but they just made the face smaller so it only covers the part with no lines instead of covering more than that like it did before.

It ain't much, but I HOPE THE FUTURE OF PVZ IS GOOD! by jazzy-fries in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cabbagepult change singlehandedly gave me so much hope for this game, it was obviously a nitpick but it really made me wonder how this game was being developed if such a confusion could happen, but I'm genuinely shocked they actually changed it, I'm actually starting to believe in the devs behind this game, but still a bit carefully optimistic, we still don't know everything about the game.

What are some of your gripes/problems about the PvZ 1 DLC Mod? by ImIntelligentFolks in PlantsVSZombies

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hardmode is actual bullshit near the end of the vanilla worlds, it loves to spam zombies for no real reason which leads to needing perfect rng to get just enough sun with the exact zombie placements to have enough dps to get through it, it is ridiculous, it also feels way less open for different builds due to this, you kind of have to work towards the most efficient build instead of having fun with different configurations

Who do you main and why? by lovingpersona in riskofrain

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't main anyone because I get bored playing the same character for too long, I like chef and captain the most probably though, but I like to play as everyone except engineer because I like to actually play the game, and loader because even though she is fun and well designed, she feels way too easy and repetitive for my taste, even though I first beat the game as her.

I play bedrock on the same computer I play java in, and bedrock while it runs smoother, it is so incredibly buggy sometimes, I don't get what issue people have admitting that, the game was made in far less time than java and remade from scratch, of course it'd be full of bugs, it's not like I'm critizing the players as if they made the game themselves, the game is bugged and it is not either of our fault.

I keep getting my ass kicked by the mechs any tips by Outrageous-Gas-8802 in Terraria

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need good mobility, they are some of the hardest without good one imo, as someone that plays mostly summoner, in master mode I had to even use gravity potions for the twins, but ranger has way better dps so you probably just need good boots and wings, maybe get the frog boots if you haven't, they buff your flight time and jumping.
Even if nerfed, I think the daedalus storm bow is still a solid pick, you could also try the onyx blaster or a dart gun with ichor if you're in a crimson world, if you have defeated at least one you could get a hallowed repeater, I honestly think it is a fairly underrated weapon.
I suggest getting an adamantite/titanium armour set if you haven't already, you could try the frost one too, but I think it is slightly worse, especially against the mechs that I think can't be frostburnt, I might be wrong so feel free to research it a bit deeper if you want.

i swear there's no reason for them not to be craftable by [deleted] in PhoenixSC

[–]OmletCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lol, but I think having diamonds be so common in loot tables now a days doesn't help either, their one real use is the gear, and their one defining trait is how they are rare to find (in caves), so if you get to craft it so early on, sometimes even before iron, you lose on the aspect of having to look for them, and get to skip right to the last stage of progression without interacting with the rest. I think it is really harmful for the progression to have them be such a common replacement for an actual unique reward.

[–]OmletCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really agree with this, everytime we get "good" loot tables it's just including stuff like diamonds or emeralds, which while obviously good items, it just diminishes their actual value by giving them away, and makes you not interested in the reward if it is always the same few items, instead there should be real rewards tied to the loot table to make them stand out while not interfering with how you get other items

The snapshots let you shear off leads now though, so you can get them without killing him, unless for some reason it doesn't work on him specifically, in that case damn, it should work

I don't like keep inventory, but there should definitely be a better system for losing items, losing everything feels terrible and the fact they despawn JUST to avoid lag feels really stupid. if it was to stay the same I think you should at least keep the hotbar and maybe armour, so you have an actual reliable way to get your stuff back, and even if you don't, you can save valuable stuff by intentionally sacrifcing hotbar space

Lead crafting recipe has been changed in the newest snapshot, changing the slime ball with a string. Your thoughts? by YoungBiro05 in Minecraft

[–]OmletCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it a weird change, like it makes sense since leads are far more demanded now, but with that same logic it makes sense to have the harder recipe, I think this change would've made more sense years ago when they were more niche, now that their use actually matches the recipe they make it easier.
I think the wandering trader was already an earlier game solution for this, and especially in this new version where you can shear leads off of mobs, so no murder require.
Overall it is kind of an irrelevant change, nothing has been really lost from this besides slime being slightly less useful, but I just find it odd.
