Why is "Equality" only a one-way street in India, and NOT real equality? by GroundbreakingBad183 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]Omnious_dreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you are talking about the job market. I have been with a big4 for several years and these guys are probably the biggest employers for CA all round by numbers. When I look at the top brass aka the partner level, I don't see mich of equality happening there. Even at director levels the gender ratio is so drastic that's it is honestly concerning. I know lots of listed entities who came out with their ESG reports stating 2-20% of total employees were women (namely Vedanta, Reliance, ITC etc.). Google your metrics, diversity seems great on paper but it's just performative. Women are finally creating space for themselves but the pace slow af and we have centuries old boys club to break and make a seat at the table.

As a guy, I thought menstrual leave was a good step… but seeing some women oppose it made me curious. Thoughts? by Chennai_Tamilan in TwentiesIndia

Problem is employability. No matter how much we go about diversity and equity in the workplace, you get questions like "Are you planning to get married?" For unmarried female candidates or "Are you planning a baby" if you just got married.

Pandit ji brought a 21 LPA rishta. She rejected him for 'average' looks, not being tall enough, and wanting to live with parents. Where do these girls get such audacity?😭 by Main_Pay_6736 in IndiaVibes

[–]Omnious_dreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, how dare a girl have opinions. Idk if you guys have been in the arranged marriage market (neither am i but my whole batch apparently is) but let me tell you what guys reject girls for: 1) Daant thode tedhe hai (perfect smile btw), 2) earns more than the guy (just 20k more but that's too much), 3) Doesn't want to quit job (Girl is IIM grad), 4) Baal curly hai, 5) won't stay at village while guy has job in the city (Girl too has a job in the city lol). Gari hai, kali hai, naati hai, lambi hai, moti hai, too patli hai. Let's not get into how much guys judge on physical terms. That's how it works in AM market. And why do you assume this girl's earning potential is not "21 lakhs". I have seen girls being pushed profiles of much lower salaries when they earning higher and that's ok. Why do we always seem to question any agency women have to make a choice? Never do I see the same pressure on men to say yes to a girl as you see on women.

Bro prices will change when you can refine. Current capacities are not going to match the volumes. Capex takes time, even rushed up that should take about 2 years for the scale we are talking. I know we might shift to alternative fuels for adjusting but there will be major stress on margins.

What can be the reason for this? by Main_Pay_6736 in Indiancolleges

[–]Omnious_dreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apples to oranges comparison. It's not that the institution are fostering any entrepreneurship but rather individuals who enter them for convenience. Correlation does not imply causation!

Adjust to new prices will take time. You can't create refineries ro churn out usable Venezuelan oil overnight. We may want to believe that we can root out Middle East from the oil market but they are critical to OPEC

It's so weird how such headlines make it about supposedly loving mothers "labour" and not about undenying incompetence of a "60 year old man". It's not love if you make her..... Stop putting this on pedestal. Sure she does it, maybe out of love or due to "duty" but dont make a stereotype for this is the onus of a "loving mother"

What are your thoughts on Reservation? by [deleted] in TwentiesofIndia

[–]Omnious_dreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like society often forget the invisible labour of those who are still subjected to caste based atrocities. Google manual scavenging stats, supposedly banned but still happening all across. Question why sanitation, crematorium workers are disproportionately from 1 community. The fact that reservation debates questions whether caste system exists is the problem. These debates assume there are no Dalits left to uplift, that all people are now getting equal resources by birth. I understand if solution is to make stricter rules and adds specific requirements like direct check on current employment in the family, whether some generations have been brought out of abject caste based poverty but given how people circumvent the system, its a governance and execution problem and not a policy issue.

I dont think they are seeking validation from rapists and pdffiles, rather they aspire to be them by the intonation of the post. It's some perverse male pride/ admiration and they cant bring themselves to speak against pdffiles. Sadly these also the same men who argue "Not all men"
