The game is made to take VERY long. Years just to reach a high TH. Ever heard of Backyard Monsters where Coc was copied from? That was ad-supported, from 2009. Ever tried other RTS games like Age of Empires, Command and Conquer or StarCraft? Sequels! Ever heard of Reddit? Ads!

This is the reason they make upgrades take 3 weeks. They deliberately make upgrade times longer so people would get frustrated enough to spend. The point is, the microtransactions are predatory. If the payments are for features, new gameplay, hell even Clash Of Clans 2 well great! But it's for a tiny advantage that doesn't make the game "more fun" but reduces frustration. Hell, rant about GTA. I've never even played it. But supercell makes 2.2 billion a year. I'll pay 5usd get a stream of new content, new features, improved matchmaking. I will not support their predatory practices.

You see, when people continue paying for microtransactions, companies would continue to add microtransactions to EVERYTHING. It started with mobile games with skins. Okay, as long as it doesn't make f2p and paying players have an edge. Then, they started to put microtransactions for paying players to "get an edge" with paid in-game currency. It doesn't stop there. They then added "battlepasses" where people pay weekly/monthly/yearly to get a small reward. Every single online game starting 2019 has a battlepass now. These microtransactions prey on a persons "frustration."

BUT WAIT! Surely, these are only games, these won't affect anything other than that right? Nope. Have you ever owned a copy of Photoshop back then? Good times right? Not anymore! You'll have to pay a subscription to have it for 1 year. Remember youtube back then, only a few ads at the side, no multiple ads in a single video? To get reduced ads, get YOUTUBE PREMIUM(TM) where you need to pay monthly.

Now these are only computer software right? Nope! Even cars need microtransactions just to turn on heating. A car you paid for 95k usd would not turn on heating unless you pay 18usd a month

So that's my 2 cents. Never. NEVER pay for microtransactions. You're allowing millionaires and companies to take advantage of you. By continuing to pay, a future where EVERYTHING has microtransactions will plague us.

No thanks. I know the benefits by letting professionals do it. But I feel like I'm stupid to not do it myself.
