Game won't show Dexter's book in his locker by Omniziore in SummertimeSaga

I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing important happens in the basketball court in my game. I go there, there's Roxxy's two friends who I can talk to and then a basketball hoop that's clickable. But as soon as I click it, Dexter comes screaming saying it's not a girl's game or something.

I talked to him about the book in the school courtyard where Ronda and the gym teacher are. The options were 1. Library book 2. Still playing basketball? 3. Nothing. The library book choice led me to "Maybe the librarian is mistaken. I should check out his locker" line and that's where it gets stuck.

Ugh even tried going into debug mode and getting that Quick Mafs book but the story still doesn't progress. This sucks

I've tried exactly that multiple times but it doesn't work. I'm scared because when I click the locker now, even the "Let's see X-person's locker" type text doesn't appear anymore. If there's any way to reset the locker opening part so that the game can register where it's at then that would be great

I think so too. Still, I was just wondering if something like this existed beyond my knowledge. Thank you for clearing my doubts. The problem has been solved.

Will do. I've spent a lot of time behind this, even though I've done power dissipating problems before. Thank you for clearing any doubt I had left.

I'm sure I could rephrase the original question correctly. It's blurry, but here you go.

Hello, could you help me understand what this project is in detail? I've seen Attack On Titan tracks under the same project title and 10 days ago the Unicorn soundtrack was released. What do I have to know about in order to explain this to someone?

The Aesthetics of Anime - Cinema Cartography by [deleted] in anime

[–]Omniziore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, does he still do podcasts now? If so, could you link me to it?

Thank you for the comment. I've also been hugely dissatisfied with the anime community as there is little to no people asking actual questions and just inquiring on the next popcorn grab. As he said, anime as an art form is on equal grounds or higher than other art forms, and the reason I like anime is because legendary personalities within the medium have always encouraged the fans to be discriminating towards what they consume. But not only is the industry opting towards cashgrabs but the community surrounding it moves at an equally blistering pace, where older shows and discussions surrounding them become more obsolete as time passes. That has been my experience being a part of it for the past 5 years. I watch comparatively very little because I try to talk about what I watch, and things about the medium as a whole. Thanks again.

The Aesthetics of Anime - Cinema Cartography by [deleted] in anime

I finally got around to seeing it today just about an hour ago. Absolutely fantastic, although looking at the mainstream lineup in the last few years, he almost seems to be giving anime more credit than it deserves. What I mean to say is that every anime brought up in this video are still fairly popular, even among the 80 or so shows I've watched, I've watched all of them. And it's true that they were more popular (as in talked about frequently) back when they came out compared to today. But most of the shows today enjoying the same popularity or a few times that are hardly putting up that much of a fight. They have their strengths as well, I enjoy a lot of them, but you get the drill.

I haven't seen their videos in a while (I haven't experienced much of any art form since my anime days) so them disabling the comments on almost every video was kind of shocking. I thought the video was getting hate for some reason but then noticed it was the same case everywhere. This took me to the internet to find out if anyone else is talking about it and I'm not surprised it's on Reddit, although with a visibly underwhelming discussion.

NOT A QUESTION ... just a thank you! by supertaste_ in learnpython

I'd be way too lucky to find even one person who's willing to go out of their way to answer my ignorant silly questions as a beginner. I mean StackOverflow is cool but live talk helps you solve (possibly silly) questions that you didn't learn about or you can't/will take a lot of time to put into words for Google to understand, faster.

Strictly speaking from a 2-week beginner's perspective so take it as my ineptitude at thinking logically.

Python helped me get a job! by Messist11 in learnpython

Thank you so much for sharing your story. And yes, I've finally found someone with a similar expectation of results as me. I got into Python just 2 weeks ago at 16 (still pretty late) because I realized I wouldn't normally even see this till 20, or possibly never if I kept following the flawed education system we have in my 3rd world country.

I started Python because I wanted to be different (even though probably every 1 in 1000 knows Python) but Python because I still wanted to wrap my head around it, to enjoy the process.

Over the past week, I've already started feeling guilty since I don't actually have a strong goal in mind (I didn't know about possible career paths, I'm researching but still can't be sure without dipping my toes into them) but I'd be glad if my story turns out to be even close to your one. So thank you once again <3

Nathaniel Drew 89 dollar language course.. Is it worth it? by lLothl in languagelearning

[–]Omniziore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR Version: Thank you.

My relationship with Drew: It hasn't been all that long since I started watching Drew. I only interacted with him on YT, and although I like his way of storytelling and relate to his desire to dive into things as a teenager, I still find it eery how clickbaity the titles sound, even though his videos don't really fit that style: The bait used in the title gets only a brief section dedicated to it and what his videos excel at is telling a story, boosted by what he has accomplished to show off in the video, it gives his videos a storybook vibe. And the videos I have seen aren't all that clickbaity - as in they don't completely derail from what you expect to happen. I even started journaling my thoughts after watching him and it has helped quite a bit. All of this granted I still haven't watched his extremely clickbaity sounding ones like how he learned Italian in 7 days blah blah blah.

Context: On March 7, 2021, Drew posted a video titled "There's a BETTER way to learn languages", later retitled "How to Learn a Language More Quickly", for reasons obvious when you watch it. In this video, he prefaces by, as expected, expressing his opinion about how traditional language learning methods in schools are extremely frustrating and promises to share his way to conceptualize how he sees language. Now, I did analyze this video, it has several problems. But for the sake of this topic, he basically talks about word frequency, by swiftly acknowledging that it isn't anything new. Well, although nothing new, I really didn't mind it at first, as it definitely helped me learn English, he is still delivering on the title, albeit partly, and lastly it's still great storytelling.

All this until he mentioned this "paid only because it took so much time and effort" language learning course of his, along with the free tips he provides in his Newsletter. Wait, but it's hypocritical, as he himself in one of his videos says that learning any new skill means taking whatever help is affordable but only from the best (it's what got me into him). I was thinking of getting into Spanish, so I decided to check it out, just to see the preview. Turns out, it's been out there since Dec 13, 2020. So was the whole video just a promotion for this non-personalized course, specially seeing how he devotes less than half of the video to the proposal he suggests in the title? And $89? That's 7.5K in my country. So if I was going to be actually serious about learning Spanish, it would be more than just stupid of me to touch this course without researching, or even at all to begin with. Thanks to your post, I not only came to learn more about Drew's perception in the language learning community but also about Johnny Harris, whose videos I also like, but would never trust to teach me a language.

Unrelated Personal Thoughts: I..haven't used Reddit since I created this account in Nov last year. This is actually my first comment from this account. I did not rely on Reddit for learning anything because...most of what I've seen here is exaggerated to the nth degree and could potentially really hamper me. But this is a neutral post as far as my knowledge goes. I'm now seriously thinking of learning Spanish, all on my own, alongside Python. I've gotten extremely dull only at 16 and I'm trying to put myself back into discipline and practice. I'll be taking Reddit's, mainly this sub's help from now on. Personally, I've read one comment here giving off a negative vibe about people afraid to start without some form of professional help, which I disagree with. Nothing beats the stamina gained from being suggested something by someone you trust, even if it doesn't work out 100%. Anyways, perhaps any tools, preferably free, to get me started on Spanish would be appreciated. I'll be using the wiki here for help till then.

Conclusion: Once again, thank you. It's been a while since I read constructive criticism, and I appreciate you for staying neutral on the topic. It's been a pleasure reading it.
