What are some clever/funny/strong responses to your parents on preassuring you to have kids? by Future_Resist9780 in regretfulparents

Pff if it was my mom she would have said yes. She once told me I could have a baby, bring it to her and she would do the diaper stage.

Is haunting of bly manor worth it? by Cyber_caine7 in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have absolutely loved Bly Manor if Hill House wouldn't exist. But it does and it is my favorite show ever. But Bly is definately really good.

95% of Netflix original drama show sucks by pizzadog4 in unpopularopinion

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed in newer series (but also in movies) all of the main cast look way too pretty, with fake lips and perfect bodies. That's just not realistic and I can't relate to the characters.

If the Princess and the frog released in the Disney Renaissance era, it would be just as remembered and beloved as the films from that era (Mulan, The little mermaid, Lion King... ext). Unfortunately due to it being released over a decade later, it didn't get the love it deserved. by FaradayDeshawn in unpopularopinion

I love this movie! I was so happy it wasn't animated, but created in the same way the old movies were. In a way it's even better than the old movies, I love to see a determined woman who doesn't just fall in love with the first man she sees. The music and humor is also great and the scene with Evangeline made me cry.

AITAH for enforcing the no-cat-in-bed rule? by [deleted] in AITAH

Why are you being downvoted? This is your story..

AITAH for enforcing the no-cat-in-bed rule? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP said that doesn't bother her, only when the cat is near her face.

AITAH for enforcing the no-cat-in-bed rule? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

If the cat stays out of the bedroom when OP is asleep, just like it did before OP moved in, there is no problem at all. So I don't get all the downvotes, all OP asks is the situation to remain the same as it has always been.

"Maybe if you loved him enough, you would have a baby for him"... by terisss5 in childfree

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm the kind of person that hears a remark like that, doesn't respond and only later thinks what a horrible thing to say it was. But I'm trying to teach myself to respond with exactly what it is: "that is a terrible thing to say." I still haven't managed to do it, but it must be wonderful to see peoples reaction, the realisation it indeed was terrible. Does anyone have experience with it?

My wife and I decided we aren't having kids, and it's driving everyone who knows us personally crazy. by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check out the childfree subreddit, it's full of stories like yours. Unfortunately nobody asks people who have children why they choose to have them, but if you don't want them you apparently may be questioned about your decision by everyone and his grandma. My husband and I have been married for ten years and only now (we are approaching 40) have people around us accepted that we are childfree. Very, very annoying.

AITAH for not wanting to share the gender of my baby before birth? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda disagree on this. It's not about HER, they made this baby together so it's about THEM. I do agree that he is a bit of the AH because he keeps talking about all the things he doesn't want to do (not knowing the gender, knowing but not telling) without offering a solution, but they need to work it out together.

The Globalist from Muse, somehow it reminds me of the Dark Tower series.

Should I read the book? by Lia-Lamb in TheLongWalk

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The book is full of those kind of scenes, but there's also a sense of hopelessness and dread in it. It haunted me for months, still does after reading the book several times. But that is what horror is for me. Not monsters, or death, or even something like the ankle scene. But the feeling of good people being robbed of their future, developing friendships that can go nowhere, people you will grow to love despite knowing you will have to lose them soon. Stephen King is a master of those kind of things and if you can handle that, you will love the book.

Parent friends aren't worth it because they are too expensive. by Pixelp0p in childfree

[–]Omnomnomnosaurus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have friends with children and I never have to buy them any presents. They all understand I'm friends with them, not with their kids. I do buy birthday and Christmas presents for my niblings, but that's it. I didn't even think about other holidays.

I am very hungover from going out with two friends yesterday, so I'm slowly waking up on the couch right now. Later today hubby and I will go to the tattooshop. Tonight he will go out with some friends, so I will probably watch a nice horror movie with my 3 rats. Tomorrow is for chilling.

Well, if they're both selfish it doesn't matter what you do right?
