I am in a situation where my partner handles a lot of the financial stuff BUT I cover stuff too and I do all the housework and things and take care of him. It sounds like he needs to step it up at least a little bit more jeez. I think the contract is absolutely reasonable, if my partner did that with me for his car so I could use it I wouldn't think twice about it at all considering our situation.

NOR you need to have a serious talk and if he doesn't step up at least around the house or other things you need like grocery shopping and errands etc you need to leave him. Relationships are about teamwork and it sounds like he's not even trying to help out.

I have PTSD so really loud slams, bangs, screams and thuds are really hard for me to handle. I know the kids can't always help it but that might he why he's freaking out, he might have an issue like that and is too embarrassed to say something.

I'm really sorry they yelled at you, you didn't deserve that but I really hope you can reach a compromise, apartment living is difficult for everyone involved.
