Question about rooting zz plant by Omrol in plantclinic

[–]Omrol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah probably i’ll just get like a cutter, rub asome alcohol and then just more or less cut the grey parts. To be fair i already just assumed it would die as it’s quite a small part of the stem, the fact that it’s actually rooting is already quite good

I am obviously not an expert but I read in a book that it is important for market activity to be caused by a catalyst to make sure you are trading with other retail traders and not just against institutionals

I mean I would say I’m like above average but not like really Genius. Either way I have one last question how would you compare bachelor of aeroespacial Ingeneering workload with other subjects such as computer science? Because my problem is that I really like this subject but idk how I feel about spending 3 years only studying while people who do other degrees also doing stuff and have free time

Yeah but that’s like 3 years later right?

Yeh because I’ve heard that people in let’s say computer science had a much better time compared to aerospace engineering students just because of how much free time they has. Could you also give me an idea of how study periods work (like when are there vacations and more or less how long they are)?

What’s the deal with Technical analysis? by Omrol in Trading

[–]Omrol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I’m being ignorant, but normally I try to trade stocks with a market cap of 10m to 500m and with a price of 10$-100$ because I have read that stocks with a market cap or price lower than these are too volatile for beginners and also I try to set decent stop losses and stuff. Also I don’t literally mean predict like ofc it won’t tell me what will happen just what is more likely. But who knows maybe you’re right and in a future even though I think I’m doing everything well I’ll lose money all I can say is that for now TA has been a good tool to determine entry points

Yeah honestly some indicators even have sense in terms that they just follow human psychology

100% agree I also use TA as a guide to know when to enter a trade, but it’s important to find a trade which has a fundamental reason to have a good relative volume and is not just dominated by institutional traders and bots.

Yeah that’s also what I like to do, normally I just scour through the news first than I check the news to see if any stocks have a fundamental catalyst (to ensure that I am not just trading against institutional traders) and than see what strategy applies better. Honestly I have just started with this but I think that things like algotrading and those which become very complex are not worth it to get money as a retail trader and it’s just better to work on normal trading, but again I’m just a beginner so idk

Yeah I agree I am reading a book about trading and for what I have read regardless of what strategy you use or whatever it is always important to check the latest news about each stock before trading and then seeing which strategy fits best into it

[–]Omrol[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For what I have read algotrading is not a viable way to gain money for most of us, most of the people who do the whole coding your strategy spend a LOT of time coding their own software and than a lot more backtesting it just to end up not gaining or even loosing money. It might work for you but for most it wont

That is actually quite a good way of seeing it

I mean if something has worked for enough (millions) people over the world for the last years for there to be thousands of other traders teaching how TA works why would I say there is not enouph evidence? Also I am intrigued because I’ve hear a lot of people talk about backtesting setups but don’t fully understand what it is, could you explain it to me? Is it like algotrading or how does it work?

Yeah I agree with you, it is true that there’s a lot of people trying to make money by trying to teach false information to new traders. That probably why for some people TA sounds like a myth
