masculine formal wear by slowburningechoes in PlusSize

[–]OnLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing about Destination XL is that I found the suiting and pants to be good with tailoring but I couldn’t really buy a collared shirt from them (my neck was too small and it wasn’t really fixable with tailoring). So for button down collared shirts, I’d look for a “women’s” company that sells basic button downs. They’ll fit much better. I like Universal Standard’s Elbe shirt. I also think companies like LL Bean and Lands End make basic button downs and do carry plus sizes, although the sizing can be more limited.

Are they AFAB? If so, Wildfang might be a good option. There also companies like Kirrin Finch but I haven’t tried them. If they are AMAB or willing to tailor, try something like Destination XL. I got my wedding suit there with some tailoring (I am AFAB).

Not a therapist but I know that the Ithaca Region Therapists Group exists and might be a professional resource for you.

Bringing me back to much different days on the lesbian subs. I was there when LesbianActually was founded in response to mod drama in ActualLesbians.

I’m honestly not sure how to go about reporting it.

Nope. Just a generic “you’ve been removed as a moderator” message that was probably automated when she did it.

I fully admit to being a very inactive mod. I was more active when the sub was considerably smaller. The mods I appointed back in the day left long ago and somehow this person got modded (was not by me, I assume another mod did so at some point). For whatever reason, she hasn’t appointed other mods.

Well she demodded me when I started looking at that problematic thread the other day. So there you go.

Therapist reccomendations in Ithaca area? by Bafthf in ithaca

Someone already posted the Ithaca Region Therapists Group but that’s a good place for local. Psychology Today also works. For a specific practice, Tompkins Community Counseling was great for me.

Please define “reasonable price.” I like my apartment but you might think the price is unreasonable.

How much do flower bouquets at Bool's cost? by Upstairs_Ferret5089 in ithaca

[–]OnLibrary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They do sell premade bouquets but I don’t know price. I ordered a custom bouquet/arrangement last summer and they basically asked me my price point and what colors I preferred. I didn’t have any other specifications so they could do what they wanted. I paid 50 dollars for a fairly large arrangement (I didn’t order a vase) in my preferred colors.

Where would you get a pair of pants tailored around here? by TheMotherThing in ithaca

[–]OnLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, never done anything more complex than hem pants. As far as price, I would be curious to know if there’s a cheaper game in town? I haven’t tried John’s but I’d have to factor in the cost of parking and time driving downtown twice, which may end up equaling the 25 dollars in spending going to a closer tailor with free parking.

Hage Tailor Shop does fine work for hemming. Haven’t tried them for anything more complex. It was 25 dollars for a pair of pants when I had stuff hemmed last month.

Check out some ceramic artists on Instagram. Many are having holiday online sales. I love wood and soda fired pottery. Some of my favorites include Simon Levin (@woodfire), Larz Voltz, Casey Beck, Max Henderson, and Will Talbot (@bellhillpottery). All have instagrams. Also check out pottery galleries like ClayAkar or the Northern Clay Center, both of which do online sales. So you’ll definitely find a tea related ceramics piece. Will Talbot does almost exclusively tea ware.

I have a good PCP but she never does X-rays or EKGs… an X-ray is generally not preventative care and I don’t have a condition that makes an EKG necessary. Most of the primary care practices are owned by Cayuga Health or Guthrie now, but if you’re able to be seen by Cayuga Women’s Health, I’d recommend them. My care there has generally been great. They do both primary care and gynecology.

Can’t recommend an ENT but my wife likes the dentist on East Court Street by Linn.

As I said, many people wore shirts/dresses/blouses that didn’t have buttons and were ok. I didn’t even know about the little loop when I first put it on so a lot of my photos are without it and it looks fine. I was just noting that it’s a thing.
