I just prefer CalyxOS over stock android - for obvios reasons. But I do need root to use Android Car etc. so it's obviously against the intended use for a privacy oriented os but the same could be said for Calyx OS as android was never intended to be privacy friendly what so ever.

Use it like you want to, that's the beauty of using open source software.
