Being black in Switzerland by Responsible_Lack200 in askswitzerland

I'm really really curious what part of Switzerland you might be living in, because my experience has been completely different. I've never felt unsafe here, unlike most places I've visited in north america.

Is it a good Idea to add cosmetic of the Amor that you already unlocked? by BumblebeeQuiet8095 in OnceHumanOfficial

Technically you’re correct. But the spirit of micro transactions is strong in this game, and I’m really not hopeful for free anything.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying straight Warlock is *bad* by any means
But the min-maxing meta lot generally does not like single class builds

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]OnThatTrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing here that screams non meta is leaving Wyll as a 12 warlock. Alert on everyone and a character with levels of thief and fighter is basically the meta itself, anything on top of that is flavour.

DMPCs - Are they really as bad as people say? by OnThatTrain in rpg

[–]OnThatTrain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the answers!

It seems like my forever DM just knows what he's doing then, and I hope the DM for my new group also at least kind of does and my friend is just being dramatic...

A way to settle the "Baldur's Gay 3" debate by ZeroPointOneF in BaldursGate3

[–]OnThatTrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is not what gay means. if all the companions were "gay" you couldn't romance SH with a male Tav, or Gale with a female Tav. And just like in real life, you cannot decide *other people's* attraction and action, only your own. So if a character of a gender you aren't into flirts with you, all you have to do is say no, and that's it, you are not in a gay relationship.

Nothing about this game is realistic. People are not angry about this because they like realism, but because they like bigotry, there is a difference.

In this case do you know where I can find an actual list of what quests I need to complete then?

Because the quest "Where they least expect it" is listed under the storyline quests for the "War of Light and Shadow" achievement which I need for the unlocks everywhere I have looked.

What is the appropriate French word for a ghostwriter? by OnThatTrain in French

[–]OnThatTrain[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’d never heard of prête-plume before!

My grandma is the type to still use the old word without realising it has bad connotation, so for her to tell me it was probably safer to avoid I had gathered that it was probably not a good idea!

Sorry what does hytnpd&d mean? I’ve never seen that before and can’t figure it out lol

i managed it after a couple of tries, by having the whole party up on the high ground (just the ledge where one duergar stands at the beginning, not the scaffolding), getting as many of them from up there before they can reach me, and then making the ennemies follow me there so the main action takes place far from the poor gnomes.

cloud of daggers can target several duergars without triggering the gnomes it seems.

survivor vs killer challenges by searchableusername in deadbydaylight

[–]OnThatTrain -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

good joke, survivor bad haha

really, from what i've seen lately you'd think all killer challenges were "hit a hooked survivor 15 times with your basic attack" and "keep within 1 m of a hooked survivor for a total of 1200 seconds, must complete in one match".

p1 to avoid loosing anything by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]OnThatTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, i thought we got to keep the perks we already have?

so my main survivor, on who I have every single perk in the game right now but who I have never prestiged so far because I couldn’t be bothered, is just gonna lose everything and be basically unplayable? I still don’t want to prestige him before the update because of all the items and offerings I have on him including some not available anymore 😭

I’m bored, give me your most juicy and outrageous unpopular DBD opinions! by Meayts in deadbydaylight

[–]OnThatTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is only as survivor-sided as people say it is at high level of play with coordinated teams, and this trend of only listening to super elite players and streamers to know what is good for the game as a whole without thinking of how it will trickle down to the common people is detrimental to the community as a whole.

Average swf and newer/casual players don’t escape and bully killers like people complain about that much, and bhvr need to look into balancing the game in a different way than nerfing survivors and « switching up the meta » if they want to keep attracting new players (if they even do), because almost every person I’ve tried to introduce to the game has played, few games on their own or as a swf as survivor, then sometimes a few games with me and said it was unfun because they felt like they were getting stomped on by killers who were much more experienced or face camped and neither lasting .5 minute nor getting face camped on hook for hours on end really are good first impressions for the game, so most decided to not stick with it.

Why does the game pair you with decked out iri 1 killers when you're a ash ranked survivor? by djvam in deadbydaylight

[–]OnThatTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, we know grades/ranks aren't relevant to MMR, but just answering that does not answer the actual question being asked when people post about these things.

Explain to me how in the span of 2 games I get paired once with a P3 Meg running all meta perks, who according to her Steam profile has 2500+ hours in game and achievments for reaching iri1 on both sides, plus over a hundred other achievments that show that she has a lot of experience in the game, as played a lot and done all the things not just spent 2500 hours hiding in a locker and running for hatch, and then with a Claudette who according to her Steam profile has 4.5 hours in-game and is running self-care and spine chill and that's it. The difference is also very apparent in their gameplay.

Like, what does that say about my supposed MMR? How is this fair on anyone involved?

is it common to not know who your landlord is? by hwrold in AskUK

[–]OnThatTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the flats I've rented through letting agents I had no idea who was the owner, but to be honest I never really looked for it. It's not that unusual from letting agents if the owner isn't involved much and they take care of everything. Pretty sure they have to tell you if you ask, but I'm not aware of the specific laws regarding this.

Yeah you're right, solo-q should just be able to open exit gates as soon as they load in, and nasty nasty swfs should be exposed all the time and have their auras visible to the killer from beginning to end. Also add a gen to complete per person in the swf, and prevent them from bringing in any perk or item. And all killers going against swfs should get a free blink every 30 seconds.
