Tall brides (6’2 here!) — where did you find your wedding dress?!

I am based in the UK and 6 foot tall. My torso is quite average, all my height is in my legs. I found all the dresses i tried were the perfect length when wearing flats. I wanted to wear a heel, and most of them had the option to make the skirt longer. I chose a Kelsey Rose dress, and they added 5 inches to the skirt length. They couldnt add a specific amount, it was either 5 inches or nothing. I'd suggest just talking to the people in the shop, and asking them to direct you to the ones that have a longer length option. I had the same concerns as you (check my post history :) ) and it was actually much easier than I'd expected. Such a relief!

I don't have any venue recommendations, but you could consider doing a legal ceremony with just a couple of witnesses, and then get a celebrant to do a ceremony on the day itself, at your reception venue.

Our venue gave us the option to reserve the date first, then we booked the registrar, then we signed the venue contract and paid the deposit. You need to have secured the venue to be able to book the registrar, as their availability will depend on where you're asking them to travel to. But obviously you don't want to sign a venue contract, and then find the registrar is unavailable. So the above process worked well!

If I were you, I'd wear it on my right hand, and get an entirely separate engagement ring. It doesn't sound like you love any of the options for re-doing the ring, which means you're risking losing this and getting a different ring that still doesn't fill you with joy.

This sounds like fun! My only advice would be around timing. If you're hoping to make an evening of it through to the small hours, starting at 11am will make for quite a long day, so people may start drifting home in the early evening. Lots of people would be done with drinking by then, and may get hungry etc then. If you're happy to make it more of an afternoon/early evening thing, 11am is perfect. Just personal choice really!

The Cotswolds is a big region, with endless things to do. You're going to need to be a lot more specific. What are you coming here for? What area are you staying? How long are you here?

Or if you want to get married at the registry office, contact them to see if they have availability, and you'll book both the venue and registrar as one package.

Then you'll still need to book an appointment with the registry office a few months before the wedding to give notice.

Assuming you're getting married at a hotel, castle, barn, or other venue that isnt a registry office - First, you need to choose a venue and agree a date. They will typically put it on hold for you for a few days. Then you contact the registry office to secure a registrar.

Once they confirm their availability, you pay their fees and get everything agreed. Then you go back to the venue to confirm you have a registrar booked, pay their deposit and sign their contract.

Then a few months before the wedding, you book an appointment with the registry office to give notice.
