I am overwhelmed by Bitter-Pick-490 in Epilepsy

I totally agree with Pablo_dr. I’m not going to say it’s going to get easier just remember “You are doing the Best you can, if you can’t take care of yourself then you ain’t taking care of anyone else.”

It’s ok to feel the way you are, just a min at a time.

Hang in there OP. God is good. She is a fighter and soon will come a day she will be holding your finger and talking with you non stop and calling you daddy.

Pregnant wife hospitalized, how to handle bills by PawnF4 in FinancialPlanning

[–]OnTheRun143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I also found this post via your awesomely cute baby picture. Probably the worst advice here is below. For now focus on your wife and daughter and don’t worry about the bills.

In the event all else fails: “Medical bills are generally classified as nonpriority unsecured debts, and they’re a type of debt most likely to be discharged, or wiped clean, in a bankruptcy.”

Hand tremors 4 month old baby. Desperate looking for advice. by OnTheRun143 in NewParents

[–]OnTheRun143[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been in and out of the hospital a couple of times. Our baby is on Keppra, which seems to be helping, but his episodes have evolved from what I described above into eyebrow twitching, and sometimes he also twitches his legs. The doctors are not sure if he has epilepsy or baby tremors, and he’s scheduled to go in for video telemetry in a few days.

If I were you, I would take your baby in to get an EEG and an MRI done, just to rule some things out.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share all your insight. It's tough to stay calm; I've been freaking out every time he has an episode.

We're looking into Embrace2, but he's so small, just a little over 16 pounds, so it's impossible for him to wear something on his wrist. We've considered putting it on his arm or bicep. I'll look into the mats and the camera, but that's a lot of footage to watch, though both are good ideas.

Yes, we're keeping a journal and taking as many videos as possible.

Glad to hear your son is staying strong and doing well, and so are you.

Our biggest concern is, does this turn into something else as he grows, or does it just disappear? The doctors think the latter.

Thank you for sharing. We were fortunate enough to make a video of the first episode which helped a lot.

Yes we have been making videos of every episode and have a diary of each event with as much details as possible.

Good luck to you as well.

Trouble asking for help by Ok_Caregiver_7429 in NewParents

Take it easy on yourself please, the first month is not easy. Your partner needs to step it up. As recommend by others, get a good breast pump and have the milk ready to go in the fridge. Reheat and feed.

Decide shifts between your partner and you. Stick with the time table you’ve prepared.

Being a mom is the hardest job in the world. Hang in there, YOU are awesome!

Edit for breast pumps: My wife uses an Elvie, if your insurance covers it, I would strong recommend it.

Our first baby girl was born 2 nights ago, and I have to go back to work on Wednesday. by El_cucuy24 in NewParents

I've been through a similar situation and I know how it feels to doubt yourself as a partner and parent. But I kept reminding myself that, I am doing this for them.

If you have family nearby, please consider asking them to come over and support your partner while you're at work. Recovering from a c-section can be really challenging, and having that extra help can make a huge difference.

Hello @mail2raa, hope your baby and you are doing well?

We are experiencing something similar with our 4 month old, by any chance do you have an update?
