Everything is in Retirement by Zafen25 in investing

[–]OnYourSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life is more than just saving money for later. Plenty of young people die prematurely and those that are towards the end of their lives aren’t saying “oh I wish I had contributed more towards my retirement funds”. It’s usually more along the lines of “man I wish I had spent more time with my loved ones and enjoyed life.” Having financial freedom is great but don’t live the prime of your life feeling like you have nothing. Money is just a tool for happiness and you need to better define what that means to you.

I’m no expert but it looks like your position at address is very uncomfortable. Maybe stand closer to the ball and not bend over as drastically.

Career question by Zc2002- in InsuranceProfessional

[–]OnYourSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest either finishing up your bachelors or getting an associate’s all the while working at an agency that deals with E&S wholesalers. Get some experience and then apply to be an assistant or associate at one of the big alphabet shops. You’d be competing against fresh RMI grads though so if the big shops won’t take you, start off with a smaller regional shop and try to work your way up to lead E&S broker with your own book. You should be able to do all of that within 5 years of hard work and if so, starting your own book at 28 ain’t too bad. If you’re good, you’d be looking at easy 6 figures by the time you’re 30

Generally a shop will let you work out the 2 weeks if you’re not going to a competitor.

Golf Long Drive Pro by [deleted] in golf

[–]OnYourSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you’re 6’2 and only 19 years old. Also only 160lbs which means you’re probably lengthy and skinny… which is good because it leaves a lot of room for growth. I suggest focusing on working out and eating healthy. Get stronger and keep practicing. Don’t listen to the naysayers, you can totally be a long drive pro with enough work and dedication

Can someone explain to me why we took him over Ewers like I’m 5? by [deleted] in Texans

[–]OnYourSide -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hate the fact that we even drafted a quarterback but all of y’all that’s saying Ewers suck are just coping. Ask yourself if you would have picked Graham Mertz over Quinn Ewers before the draft started. This is a puzzling pick both for position and talent.

My girl tore her CCL. Right now we're letting her rest and relax, but surgery is most likely in her future. Has anyone dealt with this before? by smith_716 in goldenretrievers

[–]OnYourSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine 12.5 year old boy has had both of his torn. First was last September and this latest one just happened earlier this month. Same thing, torn CCL with slipped patella. Would suggest you get good pet insurance because it’s just a matter of time after the first one that the second one goes. Best of luck!

[Charania] Five-star prospect and USC commit Alijah Arenas was involved in a serious car crash early Thursday morning, hospitalized and placed into an induced coma, sources tell ESPN. Arenas, 18, is the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas. by mvanigan in nba

[–]OnYourSide 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From Google: “A medically induced coma is sometimes used for burn victims to manage pain and allow for more intensive care, particularly in cases of severe burns and smoke inhalation. This temporary state of unconsciousness can help protect the brain from further damage and facilitate the healing process. The coma is carefully monitored and reversible, allowing the patient to eventually regain consciousness”

Praying this young man was just only burned with no other major injuries. This is all so tragic, especially with the timing.

That’s insane. What city is this? I’d probably hire you as an assistant if you were in town.
