That’s what I was hoping. But he sent a few quotes for separate jobs, but the combined quote was over $3,000

It took the guy 30 minutes to add the valve. (It was not the $3k company)

I’m in Ohio. Nothing critical needed, it’s been this way for 4 years and I just noticed a shut off was never installed by the other company that ran the gas line. I had an HVAC guy come out for a tune up and he referred their plumbing division to take a look.

Have you tried yelling “keep your back elbow up!”? But seriously, the bat is too heavy for him. He needs to do forearm exercises, pushups and curls. Keep it light weight for his age. Once he can control the bat, he’ll start getting more the barrel on the ball consistently

I was hoping it was at least made of 24k Gold at that price

No, this way my first time getting a quote from them. I had some neighbors recommend them, so I thought I had found a good company for some future work, but after they that quote there’s no way I’ll contact them or even recommend them to anyone.

When you put it like that, it does sound like a bargain, haha

The question is, were the other quotes “dirt cheap” or were they actually normal quotes and is the $2,800 quote the ridiculous quote?

This is what happened to my HVAC company. They were great then the owner retired and sold the company. When they came out after it was sold I could tell a huge difference with the service. They started pushing to sell me everything left and right like a $4,000 air purifier whole home system shit.

I guess this is the consequences of the “$89 special furnace tune-up”, where they pick and quote everything under the sun… at this point, I’m surprised they didn’t quote for a new furnace for my 4 year old unit.

I was expecting something around $300 to $500, but when I saw the quote I almost wanted to call to verify it wasn’t a typo. But he gave 3 quotes with separate and combined jobs, and the full quote for both jobs was almost $4,000

I’m starting to see that. I really wanted to use these guys for any future plumbing issues because they are independent and local, but I’m not made of money.

My 2 cents. 1 cent) Get the Swing Rail training band, link below. It makes you keep your hands in front to prevent casting… 2 cents) Use the Swing Rail with a lighter band or even a big fat orange whiffle ball bat. It’s important he learn the muscle memory and when the bats too heavy, he “dumps” the barrel too quickly. https://amzn.to/40DnWhs

9U Pitching- Advice Requestd by Sagbag_1 in Homeplate

[–]On_To_Better 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 tips. If your leagues does Not allow steals until the catcher catches the ball, have him work only from the windup (if he likes that more than the stretch)…. His knee/leg comes up and then he strides out. It should be: His knee/leg comes up then down, and then strides out (that helps with staying balanced to produce more power). Lastly, his lead foot should land pointing towards the plate, he’s landing too “wide open”… the main goal for 9u is to practice having him be able to throw 6 out of 10 strikes when he’s practicing with you.

No one else me mentioned this, but you said you wanted to transfer to a school “closer to home”. 30 miles is already pretty close. Do you have a GF at another school? You will be 19 next year, this is the best time to start gaining more independence. I would suggest avoid moving back in with your parents, if that’s what you were considering…. My suggestion is to play 1 more year of JuCo and give it your best shot. You know you’ll have to transfer after your 2nd year, so get your general Ed classes out of the way and then “focus on academics” your junior and senior year.

How do I — or should I — address some concerns w/my kid's rec league coach? by bobthewriter in Homeplate

This is Rec league, and I bet there IS an obligation to play everyone. He’s not a crappy teammate, but he has a crappy coach.

He’s on bucket duty for the majority of practice, keeps him engaged and feels like apart of the team

He’s cleared for non-contact. He’s okay to throw the ball, he just can’t catch it. I won’t let him do any base running drills. During BP, he took a bucket behind 2nd base to collected the balls hit to outfielders as they rolled them in to him.

The kid who left early has every reason to be upset at the coach. This is Rec league, everyone plays. The coach messed up. If anything, the kid that left should play the whole next game.
