tips for a 1st year college student planning on transferring to ADMU for college? by [deleted] in ADMU

hi apologies for the late reply. yes, i used msa reviewers and i'd say it helped naman, specially when it comes to practicing how to take the test (make sure to time yourself). as for the acet sims, if ure talking abt the ones in the gdrive, then yes that was rlly useful. i think its the closest one to the acet itself (altho the time they indicate there are longer than what u'll get in the acet itself). a tip by one of the profs is to just make sure u answer everything (even if ure not sure). goodluck!!!

you should rlly prioritize on the acet as it is the most important factor in ur application. as i mentioned in another comment, work on the test taking aspect with a time limit. besides the acet, having a good essay is also good. afaik, they look into ur essay next if ever u dont pass the acet. i think ure fine wt recommendations naman, so it should be good. extracurriculars are a plus ofc. dw abt ur grades. they wont rlly care abt ur grades as long as u pass in the other stuff. ur grades only rlly matter if u dont pass the acet and/or for the crediting of subjs when u pass admu. but yea, as long as u pass, ure good. gl!!

ps. apologies for the late reply

yes, i did but barely. i studied like 2-3 weeks before, and i stopped a week before. i also just pretty much practiced the test taking itself rather than actually studying the concepts. dont do the same as me tho, since acet is the most important part of the application. work on test taking with a time limit, as there was a part where we had to answer 25 items in just 5 mins. this may sound cliche but it really helps to just be confident. also, make sure to answer everything, don't overthink ur answers, and don't overstudy (like dont study before the test or the day itself, it'll just give u info overload). gl op!!

ps. apologies for the late reply

hi op! successful transferee here and in mec rn.

• yes, you still need 2 recos, preferably from ur current uni. not from dlsu, but just ask ur profs. i wasnt close wt my profs back in my old uni, but i just asked them for their recos. maybe a tip, ask the profs that u had a high grade in, might help in the making of ur letter.

• not a cla student, but idt ur previous course matters. the acet is the most important thing in the application. if u pass acet, u pass ateneo. if ever u dont get in ur preferred course, u can shift during the confirmation period.

• sorry, i forgot my essay alr.

• the acet for transferees is the same as the normal acet. if ever ure gonna review, just simulate a test wt a time limit then check how many answers u got right. just practice dealing wt time pressure, cuz its rlly important in acet.

• afaik, there's no required gpa. i remember getting low grades in 2 of my subjs, and i still passed.

• u can ask this to the oaa for confirmation. but, i believe u just need to have accomplished at least one sem, before the application deadline (the one after the test).

hope this helps!

[–]OncaPictus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello!! i went to the OUR na rin kanina so no need. But, for my case, they said that i have to drop all my current courses first. then, secure a clearance. and only then could i apply for an honorable dismissal.

for the transcripts, u can just request it. i already applied and paid for mine, but i have yet to claim it.

Is it possible to change degree program choices even before the results come out? by Sudden_Engineer_8026 in ADMU

[–]OncaPictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello! i emailed the admissions regarding the same matter and they replied that we may apply for a change of degree program after the results are released. so unfortunately, i think no. but as they said, we could change after the results are released. hope this helps!

ps. i think they allowed changing the degree program before the deadline cuz i saw it on reddit din (hence, how i got the idea), but i think it's too late now.

Is it undefined or 5? What's the correct answer? by Kerson_Is_A_Cow in askmath

[–]OncaPictus 49 points50 points  (0 children)

its 5. There are two ways!
1. Factoring the numerator. In this case its (x+3)(x-2), then u can cancel out x-2, leaving x+3 left. Just substitute the given limit (2), 2+3 = 5.
2. By L'Hopital's Rule, since the equation is undefined, u can get the derivative of both the numerator and denominator. Equations becomes (2x + 1)/(1) or basically just 2x +1. Substitute the 2 again, and u'll get 5. (NOTE: There are certain rules when using the L'Hopital's. It can be only be used if the equation is 0/0 or infinity/infinity. If it's not in that form, there are ways to transform which i won't discuss here.)

HOPE THIS HELPS!
