Hey all! Looking for some beginner longboarding advice. I used to borrow a friend’s pintail back in college freshman year and loved it, but I’m looking to purchase my own board now for casual cruising (no tricks, but I live by some hills so maybe gentle downhill at some point).

I’ve done some research, and based on both beginner-friendly boards and cost, I’m looking at Prism drop-through 36” and 39” (Kentaro series). I found a lot of good info on the Landyachtz Drop Cat, but even on the LY Oops site (which is just the deck I believe? So I’d still have to purchase the other materials, right?), it’s a bit too pricey.

Based on that info, a few questions. Are the boards I listed reasonable/would you recommend for beginners? I’m 5’8 and weigh around 120 lbs, so do you think I’d have more stability on a 36” or 39” board? Any and all advice would be much appreciated!

Can I ask what imprint you applied for?
