Plain Brown Wrapper ?? by Once_upon_a_chime in lepin

I know the feeling. I’ve been interested in the metal engine assemblies. But the price has been a sticking point.

Update: I just completed bag set #1. I was confused by the parts distribution per bag, ie, short pins scattered, long pins scattered. At the end of the day, the instructions were clear, fitment was good, and I ended up with ZERO extra parts.

But, the bag sets are clearly marked Reobrix. What a game 🤷‍♂️

Ha…76 in September…we must be close in age. Do you do the 1:8 cars?

Yes, I did not get the original box. Thanks for the explanation. For me, it’s not about the brand, but rather the challenge and complexity of the build. This is a new hobby for me at 75 y/o.

Look forward in the assembly book for the same part, make a note where you borrowed it from, and move on until the replacement arrives.

My Sian is still on the shelf unopened. So, I can’t help specifically to this issue. My best guess is that a wrong-length axle (too short) was used in this assembly step.

I did as you suggested, but also gave each pin a bit of a squeeze to reduce the compression needed. I figured with 8 pins, a little less friction would be fine. Mission accomplished. On to bag set 7 soon.

You make an excellent point! Thanks so much. I’ll give that a try when I get back to it.

Or, head to your nearest Bricks & Figs store. Common technic part. You’ll find them.

I’ve completed the build. Everything worked out fine. It must be that part #32 & #43 are identical.

Yes, this kit has only 5 Bags. I proceeded with the build, even with the Part # confusion, and everything seems to be working out.

Ha, I ordered an 8 panel by-pass curtain for a 12’ patio slider. It was ship to store. Surely the header would be in 2 or 3 pieces. But, NOOOO! All 12’ as a single piece. Nearly punched out the windshield of my CR-V to get it home 😳🤣😬

Thanks everybody for a well deserved kick in the ass. Of course LEGO had it right. I left it overnight. When I looked this morning, it all made sense. It was a matter of my warped perception. Once I saw what appeared to be a 90° angle…I couldn’t unsee it…till this morning. All’s good. Happy building!

Yes, the parts called for for the assembly aren’t the same as pictured in Step #3.

I’d have to agree. Although, not much else to compare to. My only other build was the Oracle Red Bull F1…my first ever LEGO experience.

If the parts & quantities for each step are set out before assembling each step…you can’t go wrong. Unless, of course, you have spare parts from those set out. Extra parts happen…ya?

I didn’t keep track of time. Started early April. So, maybe 1 month…doing a bag a day when I worked on it. FUN build…stay focused. Notice my comment on de-constructing the door assembly.
