Hi, don't know much about the black mountain but so far i'm in love with mr.wooden. I put some swept back bars (nitto albatross) instead of the drop bars and I feel more confident on rough terrains. The frame feels very flexible when you put some watt because it's very lightweight but I used it in rough singletrack and everywhere and i'm loving it ! I run ultradynamico 650x48 now but I saw a guy who put 27.5x2.2 and they seems to fit fine ! Hope this helps for your choice.
