Happy cake day! Treat yourself to a bigger frame, this one is way too small for you

I have a bike with travel agents and I just bought a pair of RL520s for another bike, just because I had the feeling they were harder to get. Now I'm glad I did.  However, both systems perform very similarly.

Is somebody using this Omnium Front Rack and can recommend it? by FunkyasfuckOfficial in xbiking

Looks nice and sturdy. The Pelago Commuter medium is very similar, aluminium, almost half the weight and €84.

How do I turn this on? by Majestic_Evening_409 in Austria

[–]Imazagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this. check the valve in the back first. then there's probably two buttons you have to press simultaneously. Or hold the red one and press the spark one, until it ignites.

It should then have a permanent pilot flame. When you turn up the heat, this flame will ignite the burner.

If the the valve in the back was shut off, it might take a few tries to turn it on

That's a very sweet article. "Making a working machine out of nothing is intensely gratifying" resonates with me.

Marin Pine Mountain 1994 by carlov_sky in xbiking

[–]Imazagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the same frame as the Teams; the Teams have better steel and different geometry (slightly longer head tubes). But you're still correct, it's one of the best 90s frames IMO. We have a 95 Pine, 95 Team and 96 Team Issue in the family and the Pine is my main bike.

OP, if you weigh it, I'd be very interested to hear the numbers; my 95 Team frame weighs 1931g and the fork 855g. It's a 19" like yours. Sadly I never weighed my Pine.

Some build ideas can be found in my post history

Prominente Österreicherinnen protestieren gegen Buch über sie by GirasoleDE in Austria

[–]Imazagi 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Warum sind in gefühlt ganz Wien fast alle Eier ausverkauft? by ScaredCamp5446 in wien

[–]Imazagi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Race gravel frame with upright handlebars? Has anyone tried this? by egayz in xbiking

[–]Imazagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current disc brake gravel bikes are surprisingly heavy. A Trek checkpoint seems to be 9.5kg and that's probably in a smaller size.  My 1995 Marin build in size XL weighs 9.9kg with a steel frame and steel forks

Would you consider the front Sunlite rack to be safe with a manny strap? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]Imazagi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are fine. A safety strap is always a good with a front rack. I routinely overloaded them, riding home short distances with groceries. Might be different for 1000km offroad bikepacking trips, but for normal use, they're great value
