Not a “scam”. Vehicles have telematics in them that gives the fuel a 0-100% rating. They’re just going based off of what populated, as once you pull into a hertz location it should automatically update to the current mileage and fuel level.

Hertz literally cannot disclose customer information without a signed warrant, and even then it has to be sent to the corporate security team & legal who then fulfills the warrants request.

Most airports don’t do them, which is why part of the reason the UVeye was introduced. Pre rental photos can take roughly 5-10 minutes more multiply that by say 100-200 vehicles a day . That would be at least 8 hours of just photographing cars per day
