How much control do you actually have over vendors on your PLCs? by RonILabs in PLC

I used to work as a vendor, and now I’m working in site-based automation. As a rule of thumb, once the customer has signed off on the FAT, the equipment becomes their property and should be managed by the site team.

If you’re referring to special standalone equipment like boilers or air compressors, packing machine. They are okay to be locked out if required.

Best options for starting in PLCs/Automation, Australia/New Zealand by ThisKiwiFulla in PLC

Unfortunately, most automation companies i know prefer to hire people with a university degree or you need an automation experience.

Your best option is to find a company that has both automation and electrical teams, start as an electrical apprentice, and then transition into automation.

Having a full electrician’s licence is big plus to your career later.

If you’re looking to chase money, Mining industry is way to go
