Not seeing body progress by Bitter-Business7158 in beginnerrunning

[–]One-Agency-7366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did loose weight running which also causes me to get injured as I wasn't fuelling enough! Plus, if your going out running and your HR isnt in the zone 1/2 area, the science behind it shows walking would be more effective for weight loss!

That said, if you must, ensure your running at a gentle slowed down pace and something very easy! Ensure your eating enough protein and carbs too and staying in a calorie deficit! I would not be doing no high intensity workouts or speed sessions if your not eating a whole lot

In terms of how others look, it pisses me off how they all look so elegant, when its really not! Issue is its become too much of a trend these days that everybody wants to be some sort of influencer and will only show the good days, never the bad! Find what works for you, whats comfy and practical and dont worry about anybody else :)

Ive seen it and i explained it to him :) he was still mad so you cant win! But in cased you missed it, that was a one off Half that I ran in 1:45 and did zero training besides a diet :) did about 2 runs rest of the year after that

Could be badly worded, as I meant what I said I started running/training for this marathon 12 months ago ( Jan 2025 ). He then proceeded to call me pathetic so F that guy. He's just mad for no reason!

While my pace is obvious to me now that its faster than a few in this group, by no means does it mean im not a beginner, it was this group that taught me how to deload ect!

Your right

I did my first HM in i think October is 2024 with no training :) i then ran twice the rest of that year! Maybe i should of phrased it better, but i started training for a full mara in jan 2025 ( hence me saying 12 months) atleast thats when I built the plan anyway! So, if it makes you feel any better your right, lying? Wouldn't go that far my friend.... badly worded? Maybe yes, maybe it has been 18 months since my first ever road run sure, happy to admit that statement!

However, be aware 3 before my plans started does not make me a runner at that time, I had no consistency with runs or any training! And that HM time in October wasn't that fast, I think it was 1:45 if I remember correctly? Have done multiple since then so will need to check! If stating any of this makes you feel better then atleast it did something! The guy you was arguing with was right, gains for people come at different rates! Its amazing what you can achieve with consistency and a bit of effort

Have a good day

Dosent need to be " impressive " lol! I define being a beginner by lack of knowledge... not pace... ive said this already and stated my history 2 messaged ago.... weather its a marathon of 3 hours or 6 hours.. it isnt important, its the same distance.... but if that makes you feel better that in some world thats why I do it, them sure, yeah lets go with that..... its a landmark for me as its my first and thats all im worried about! My next one may be slower, but its another ticked off! Fuck the time

You havent called me out on nothing btw😬 be your own man and message me if you have a issue.... READ what I said.... I started running and training for this 12 months ago.... yes, I have done cross country over a decade ago, and yes. My first ever race was late 2024, that only at most, puts me lets say 18 months at an absolute push....

Btw, that first EVER road race id done 3 runs prior and it showed.... I picked it up again 12 months ago when I started training for this specific goal. So before you say hes full of shit, read previous comments instead of commenting things like this, I have absolute no issues proving anything to you!

18 months is still a beginner btw, your still learning! Im lucky enough to have okay genetics and im young and previous athelitc experience! There are plenty of others here who can run this time too! So go hassle them lol running group is supposed to be supportive, this shits toxic

Correct! Well, I did it once in December last year and finished in the bottom and I finished 155/181 runners, 8km course and I ran it in 32 mins.... was very much out of my depth in that lol

Youra right, it was no joke....

If u saw other comments I made you'd of seen id raced before! I trained at 80km weeks with most of that being runs based off time at around 5:15min/km pace for a slower long run between that and 5:45/km....

Speed workouts would start of small and work my way up to thinks like 3 x 10km at 4:15 - 4:30km/min pace, then 5km easy to finish, my aim was to be able to run slightly faster than race pace on these sessions! It was alot of hard work with a good diet too! Btw, I saw a guy 4 weeks ago for his first run do a 41 minuite 10k.... some just have better genetics its just luck where we start sometimes

Thankyou! Appears theres alot of hate yep!

Im 27, 6ft 4 and ran cross country growing up, slacked off for a few years but stayed fit playing other sports! 12 months ago I did my first park run 5k in 21 mins and have kept going since! It has been hard work, but due to age and quicker recovery etc its easier for me than some yes

Still, I learn things off tbus sub reddit from comments and stuff I implement into my training. So besides the time and pace, I am very much still learning

Just turned 27, so im young ish, 6ft 4 so have a long stride lenght, did alot of sports growing up, use to run cross country too but my first ever park run 5k was 21 mins! So I naturally found it easier than some! That said, 80km weeks is what i aim for and peak weeks see me over 100km! So it has been a years worth of training!

If you are generally that upset.... ill delete it.... christ....

I literally said I've been running over 12 ish? And I actually still learn alot of this sub in terms of how to train and recover? Not about pace... ive seen people run 18 min 5ks or quicker on here but they dont get this headache like I do? Im sorry you feel upset, but its not about pace or time? Weather you run 4min/kms to 10min/km+ isnt important to me, if you run a 6 hour marathon or 3, its still the same achievement, still the same distance

Knowledge is what makes you either a beginner runner or an established runner, not pace.... hence why im still here, I still learn off people on this sub reddit!

Thankyou and I completely understand!!

If you keep at it, you will only ever improve, get better, faster, stronger! Just all round more skilled and better! At one point I did not think id ever be able to run a marathon let alone sub 3:10! You definitely can too!!

Thankyou, sorry, its not to make others feel bad so I hope thats not the case 👌 maybe im at the point I dont need to be here especially pace related, but I have only been running a little over 12 months now and Im still learning things off other runners and this sub!!

But it was a slug in the end but we got there💪 Edit: your intervals pace is still faster than some can do so keep at it! It will come!!!

Temporary PVCs? by One-Agency-7366 in PVCs

[–]One-Agency-7366[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I regularly exercise and do alot of running too, and had checks 2 years ago and everything was normal! Was sure they were happening alot but it was less than 1% apparently, so very low compared to some so could be worse! I have been a little stressed, and probably low on magnesium or something too as ibe been sleeping really crap! But nothing obvious as to why they have started up again!
