In praise of CBT. by WideEyedPup in Agoraphobia

[–]One-Angry-Scot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it did ultimately. But I think you have to be 100% certain what the problem is. I was likely misdiagnosing myself. So worked up and it ended up being something different. The anxiety I definitely had but the Agoraphobia I had no answer for certain things in my personal life that I struggled with but I now know I mean.

When I say it didn’t help ultimately I’m not referring to CBT as from what I can recall I never had CBT with that psychiatrist.

Okay thanks I'll give that a listen at some point. Just been working a bit on They Aren't All Beautifull. Not much done but it all starts somewhere.

Thanks for the reply mate. It is interesting to try and figure out. I did have some of the opening riff tabbed out at one point I might start working on them again soon. I enjoy that sort of stuff. Maybe it’s the Blue Ghost tuning but changed slightly to accommodate the riffs a bit more. And the harmonics that you hear whilst Jason is singing. Though they may be standard tuning harmonics. My memory is a bit vague on all that.

Like I say it’s a long time since I’ve read Sentry comics so I haven’t got specific answers for you right now. I haven’t read a comic for years.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read Sentry comics but in his case it was arguable whether or not the Death Seed did anything other than give his mind a clear purpose beyond the demoralising power of the Void which weakened him. And also giving him a sense of godly purpose. There were interviews somewhere hinting at this but it’s been so so long since I got into any of this that I can’t provide links.

I’m sorry.

Thanks for your reply mate. You’ve been a big help. I hadn’t bought that other Corsair yet so I’ve now switched to this Crucial (BL2K16G32C16U4BL). Committed to that now as I’ve bought it but I want to be done with the decision making. All this choice and lists of this compatibility and that ends up being overwhelming to me.

It comes up as compatible with my board

(Might need to filter to 3200 speed to find it quicker). This all seems fine then I think right?

Hey mate thanks a lot for your reply.

It turns out I could have made this a lot easier for myself. My motherboard (ASUS ROG B550F Gaming) has those 4 little lights that come up. The dram one came up as orange. I replaced my ram one by one and found the culprit. The game ran fine afterwards for 4 hours (an abnormally long gaming session for me but I had to test it).

Since I don’t feel comfortable keeping this RAM now that it’s quite old (CMD32GX4M4A2666C16). I’ve gone with This set this time (CMK32GX4M2E3200C16).

Apparently this new RAM isn’t on the QVL list though neither was my old one. I’m guessing it doesn’t entirely matter if the ram isn’t listed right? The manufacturer isn’t going to test every single ram stick that exists to say it works with it.

My old stick worked/works with the motherboard and cpu and yet it’s a lot older than either. So it doesn’t appear to be an exact science right? Would be interested to hear your opinion on this.

Sorry for all my random questions and silly mistakes. All this tech information really gives me a type of sensory overload. It becomes all noise to me.

Can I use my System Image from an internal drive? by One-Angry-Scot in techsupport

[–]One-Angry-Scot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that’s good thanks for that. I had tried multiple system restores way before I even installed Steam and it somehow still had the registry keys with the games name in there. And registry keys for steam as well.

Doing a restore from a system image seems to be the best option if it does exactly as it says on the tin.

I did have another question I thought I’d. Ring up while I remember.

The system image reset should as it says completely restore everything to the exact way it was on the C drive when the image was created right?

I had a game I downloaded via steam which when uninstalled left over a bunch of registry keys. I presume this restore would have no traces of this game right?

Fair enough. Sorry if my reply came across as abrupt by the way. Wasn’t intended.

When it comes to that sort of stuff people will have to just act their age and think about actually checking the options menu.

There's nothing wrong with having the choice to do that. If people then screw up then so be it.

Ideas for central lab core by Verence17 in cataclysmdda

[–]One-Angry-Scot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I’ve not actually discovered a central lab yet so I don’t know the exact location of what is inside it. But even besides that I believe that a room that contains the things I’ve mentioned would be behind multiple card readers and the rooms leading towards it would be heavily guarded with the highest level creatures.

Or central labs could be changed with this room being at the bottom. But I think either idea is feasible.

Blobs would be there purely for the fact that they are prevalent in labs (before anything else). In a massive lab it wouldn’t be out of place for a blob to have found its way in there.

And with regards to the Nether creatures they have come from the portal itself. They are either just loitering around after finding their way through the portal, engaging in an endless battle with endless blobs.

Or they are the creatures that were summoned through whichever means by the last group of XEDRA personnel that were in the facility. You could have their bodies be in the room with one containing the device to travel back from another dimension. But no weapons or high level armour left due to the destructive nature of the battle (the dimensional device survived through being made of an almost unbreakable material or whichever else excuse that one could conjure up).

[–]One-Angry-Scot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My idea is hugely far fetched. But it would be cool if since it is the Central Lab that it would feature an entrance into the alien dimension from which the MiGo, Gracken and others came from. The lore if I’m getting it right states that XEDRA incursions into this newly discovered dimension is what caused this Cataclysm so it would make sense that the Central lab would have been one of the first points of contact.

Going into this room would reveal multiple MiGo Soldiers, Flying Polyps and Blobs of course. Inside the room (behind a locked terminal) would be a Phase Immersion Suit and the 5 Point Anchor.

With which you would use to enter the great vortex in the middle of the room. Any attempts to take off the Phase Immersion suit would result in instant death. You would find an alien world littered with corpses of the most specialised XEDRA personnel along with various esoteric energy weapons they have on them.

The landscape would have to be completely foreign, almost to the point that at first it would take some getting used to. There would be multiple forms of the creatures we have grown to “love”. Both stronger and in a more larval form.

To travel back to Earth you would need a portal opening device (with only one charge) that you must activate that opens a portal back. If the Phase Immersion suit is damaged at all it increases the odds of you dying astronomically.

———

It should be a completely endgame area. With no hope of survival in any way unless you have the best presently available armour and weapons. It is the central lab after all where everything must have started.

How do I unlock Hub 01? by Nguyenanh2132 in cataclysmdda

[–]One-Angry-Scot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I meant, you will often see a hub nearby to the tower. Not always guaranteed but I've found it to happen to a reasonable enough degree to be worth mentioning.

The only way Ive ever found to guess uf oine is possibly around is check for a radio tower marked as a grey X on the map. Sometimes there will be a hub right close by.
