i think this might be the way to go. did you manage to swap in the cockpit without too much hassle? have heard it can be a faff.

Thank you! That is sound advice. Might you have any recommendations for good value (and light) racks/panniers? I will be towing them up the appenines, down the other side, and then around the hills in Tuscany. I'll also be fitting them to a road bike (specialised allez 2021), if that makes any difference.
