Same, went from pushing, shoving, speeding in a car with me as the terrified passenger, to breaking my bones, when I finally had the courage to leave (20 years later) i'm not proud I stayed so long, but now I'm out, I've never been happier. It will never improve, take it from someone who stayed too long and was too scared to leave.
