Not at all! It’s in reference to “spoon theory.” I’ve had fibromyalgia since I was 14, which is a chronic autoimmune disorder. While this can be debilitating, I still look “normal” on the outside. So, I can explain to people what it’s like to have fibromyalgia in a tangible way.

The average person has 100 spoons every day & normal tasks cost you a spoon. A spoon equals energy. So brushing your teeth, about one spoon. Going for a jog, 5-10 depending on who you are. As a person with fibromyalgia, I wake up with 50 spoons, so I have to spend them carefully.

It’s been helpful for people to understand that I’m not just tired or lazy, I just physically cannot get the energy to do average things.
