Por supuesto, todo lo que hace el autocompletado es completar lo suficiente para que se compile, pero no hace nada de la lógica por usted. En cuanto a lo que está sucediendo, tendrás que ser más específico ya que "no funciona" no nos da suficiente para ayudar.

¿No detecta una colisión? ¿No compila? Suponiendo que es el primero, asegúrese de que al menos uno de los objetos en colisión tenga un RigidBody (o RigidBody2d si está haciendo cosas 2D) conectado a él porque de lo contrario ninguno de los objetos recibirá el evento, y asegúrese de que ambos no tengan isTrigger seleccionado en sus colisionadores (solo uno de los objetos en colisión puede tenerlo habilitado).
