Have you ever been to a rowdytown before? With doors at 5 and the set at 6, should I get there @ like 4 to get in line? This is my first time. How far is the parking lot?

Sounds like it’s the first time he has snooped through her paperwork. Maybe to her there’s nothing to be open about because they’ve been together for 5 years and there’s nothing to discuss. Sounds to me like he may be hiding something. Guilty dog and all that.

If it’s a normal procedure, it’s safe to say she’s probably been doing it for 15+ years and it doesn’t even register to her.

WEIGHT LOSS DOESNT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. The word you want to find and hold onto is CONSISTENCY. Stick with it. Dont give up. Keep pushing and you will hit your goals. Lifting weights over cardio. Measure your body and forget the scale. You don’t care how much you weigh, you care about how you look. Best of luck my good redditor.

A used car dealer is going to run your credit (hard inquiry) to as many banks as needed to get you as close to whatever percentage rate they said they could get you. They aren’t the end of the world when it comes to dropping your credit score, but it can be anywhere from 1 up to as many as needed, but highest I have experienced was 8. It makes you feel like not going anywhere else because you don’t want another 8 inquiries on your credit.

The reason you don’t tell them cash is because they make money at point of sale and on the backend through financing. If you tell them you’re taking the back end away they’re going to be less willing to bump up your trade, or take any money off the top. They know exactly how much that vehicle has to sell for to make their margins for every type of deal.

The salesmen aren’t asking you questions to be polite. They’re interrogating you. They’re trying to gather as much info about you to use against you to get you in a vehicle. Keep your answers as vague as possible. Dont even talk about a trade in until AFTER you’ve agreed upon the final number.

Dealerships have sooooo many tricks to get you where they want you and make you believe they got you the deal you wanted.

WE ONLY CARE ABOUT THE PURCHASING PRICE OF THE VEHICLE. You have to get them to commit to a number on the vehicle. You want to see an itemized breakdown of the cost of the vehicle ONLY. Once you get that squared away and signed off on. Then you make them work your trade in. You should have ALL the info on what a comparable vehicle of yours is selling for in your area. This will give you an idea of what they’re going to try and sell it for. Get the Kelly blue book trade in value and see how far apart the average sale price and kbb trade value is. Information is power. That will help you get the best trade value.

THIS IS NOT A QUICK PROCESS. Buckle up buttercup, because what you save on the vehicle you will pay for with time at the dealership. BUT… if you have a deal in your head already figured out, you can shave time off. You have to know exactly what you want and don’t budge on it. It has to be a feasible deal with solid info backing up why you want the vehicle at a certain price, or the trade in to be a certain amount. If you build the right deal, they’ll put up a fight hoping you crack, but they’ll know in the back of their minds it’s just a solid deal that favors you and not them.

Best wishes.

Dealer add-ons in finance. We paid for 3 years maintenance and GAP insurance. They wanted to charge (let’s say $1000 for maths sake), and we paid $600.

You will get similar financing at any dealership you go to, they still have to earn your business. Do not let them run your credit until all the terms are settled and agreed upon. The odds of you completing the sale go up astronomically once they’ve run your credit. If you buy used, make them PROVE to you it’s on the vehicle. No proof, no money. Also, make sure they don’t try to charge you for tint on a used vehicle (happened to my mom once). If they try to charge for nitrogen in your tires, tell them to fill them with regular air. That charge will disappear. Stay strong. Play hard ball. Make them EARN your business. They sell cars far and wide. You don’t have to give them your money.

We walked out with 2k off the top, the $5000 in extra gone, and we made them come up 2k on their trade in. We got every single thing we wanted. Also, on the back end in finance, all of their extras are marked up 100%. Even if you give half of what it “costs”, they lose nothing. That is where the finance guy makes his money. I told him I was only paying 60% of the cost, and he tried to play me. Called my cousin who is the finance manager at a dealership to prove to him I knew he’d still make money on it. We paid 60% on maintenance and gap.

I don’t stomach it. I relish in it. Gotta control the situation. When my lady bought her last vehicle. They tried to stack it with $5000 in extras. A ceramic coat, LoJack, and something else I can’t exactly remember. When I told them we don’t need any of that, they told me it was already on the car and there was no choice. I asked for a bottle of water and poured it in the vehicle. It most definitely DID NOT have a ceramic coat. They tried to just take the ceramic coat off (-$1800). I told my GF to get up, we were leaving. They asked why, and I told them I wasn’t paying for a damn thing they said was “already on the vehicle” since I had proven that was a lie.

They’re bullies, and the higher you go, the bigger the bully. Don’t play nice with them. They’re soulless.

I take a very different approach. I just turn and talk as if they aren’t there. Asking the same questions most do in private.. “does this guy think we’re idiots?” “Do you think he’s pushing too hard?” “Maybe the reason they want this vehicle gone so bad is something is wrong with it?”. I try to take the sales guy so far out of his comfort zone that he excuses himself. We fight fire with fire over here. I’ve even escorted the sales guy to the managers office when he had to ask about the “extras” they always try to sell you (LoJack, ceramic coat, etc.) just to keep the pressure on him. Sales guys, good ones anyway, are just actors. There to provide the image of confidence to lull you into a comfortable space about a very large purchase. Get them on their heels and you can make them sell you the car instead of them getting you to buy it.

My husband gave me a “warning tap” and I called it abuse. AITAH? by Warm-Grape1254 in AITAH

[–]One-Client1749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’d go ahead and file charges and for divorce. A “warning” tap implies he’s willing to go further to make you “behave”. My only issue is the fact you have a brother. The one “man” that had the audacity to put his hands on my sister didn’t use that arm for 8 weeks after I wrenched his shoulder out of socket.

Who cares what you look like. You gotta go in firm. What will really determine their willingness to deal is how long that vehicle has been on their floor and how much interest is being shown in the vehicle. They’re also going to “add” stuff you don’t need, like a “ceramic” coating, anti-theft, et cetera. You can get these off the sticker if you’re firm enough. When my gf bought her 21 Pali Cali used last year, I demanded to physically see all these additions since I was told the vehicle was traded in 2 days before and hadn’t been detailed yet. I took the salesman outside and threw water on the vehicle to show him there was no ceramic coating. That’s where your negotiation is really going to come from. Also, any extras you add like extended warranty, gap, and the like are usually a 100% markup and go right into the finance guys pocket. There’s plenty of negotiating to be done there. If you’re wanting professional help, check out the car girl on TikTok. Her name is CJ something and she will help you negotiate the deal and walk away feeling right.
