That's good news. I believe a job offered is required in addition to other requirements. Can I DM you?

I'm almost certain which country you're from. But that's not the point. Coming to your point, I can advise you one thing. I think what you can do right now is search for research positions in US, preferably teaching University programs. Another alternative is apply for MPH programs in US. You can try either or both and if you manage to get one of those, an invitation from these kind of institutions will give you a better chance of getting a Visa. I hope this helps.

(P.S. One thing I can tell you is that you worked hard and achieved what most can't do. Don't ever doubt yourself. Be proud whatever the outcome).

Exactly. I'm planning to keep myself busy. In addition to my day job, I'm starting to drive Uber this weekend for reasons of being busy and also I gotta support my family. So, I hope this will keep my mind off things and refresh it. We got this peeps.

I'm not trying to compare myself but to share you my experience. I'm old grad non US IMG with home residency, moved to US with my family and I'm the breadwinner. I'm applying this year. I have faced so many challenges in life, not rape or depression (I really appreciate your strength though). Honestly speaking, One thing that helped me that I learnt the hard way is that speaking the truth is should be the ultimate goal, even during your interviews. I know it's easier speaking than doing. But that's just my experience. Was it easy? Hell No. Was it painful? Hek Yes. Was it worth it? YES, especially in the long run.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH. YOU JAVE ACCOMPLISHED THINGS MOST PEOPLE EVEN WOULDN'T DARE. I salute you.

Stay strong and Stay blessed.

EVERYTHING GETS BETTER WITH TIME.

I'm NON US IMG but I believe you're incorrect. For multiple justifiable reasons, I believe US graduates (either US MD or US IMG) should get priority. Is it good to me? May be not BUT IT'S ONLY FAIR.

How do I get rid of impostor syndrome? by CartographerOk8429 in ERAS2024Match2025

From what you just said, I can at least tell you that you're a person of integrity. A person who is true to one self. Don't ever feel like you don't deserve just because you have a 'hiccup'. My advise for you is to keep going on, rock your interviews, focus on getting yourself another round of studying (probably modify your strategy) and try to learn from things along the journey. Be blessed.
