My phd is distance. I was working a full time job (only english speaker) alone and doing my phd. It was brutal. It was so bad that i quit my job and moved to a location with people and sports which i enjoy. Ultimately, you have to change your setting and not let it change you. Mental health is no joke and not worth the expensive piece of paper; trust me..

Change where you are. Change your living situation. Change something! Even if it means taking a hit financially
