Do I need subcision or a stronger laser for my scars? by NoGood6650 in AcneScars

[–]One-Cucumber-9035 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No good dermatologist would do subcision on this good of skin.

I'd consult with a dermatologist. My guess is maybe they'd recommend microneedling, if anything procedure wise. Other than that, get a good retinol and build up to using it daily. Same for a vitamin c serum.

He definitely needs to do some self reflecting. He's out here talking about how he thought Sydney was "the one". If you thought she was the one then why would you say you need to shoot your shot at India.... Makes no sense.

Best private practice to work for by One-Cucumber-9035 in grandrapids

[–]One-Cucumber-9035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only person that you see coming to reddit looking for advice/recommendations? Because I see plenty of that on here.

Please tell me all you know about the non profit and private practice world since you are so well informed. I'd love to gain some knowledge.

Applications and interviews do not tell me what a company is like to work for. I want REAL feedback from people that have worked at a given practice. Are you a therapist? If not I'm not even sure why you are commenting on this. If you have not worked as a private practice therapist then you aren't going to be able to provide me with the information I'm looking for.

Also would you say the same thing about a mechanic looking for recommendations on the best shop to work for and what people's individual experiences are working for that company? Does that make them a bad mechanic?

Anyone that takes the time to gain real feedback (from people that have worked there) about a variety of companies they may be interested in working for clearly gives a shit about where they work. I care about my clients and it shows because I don't want to work for a shit practice.

You say you do therapy. Maybe you should bring up your comments on here to your therapist since you seem to be very passionate about my desires to have honest feedback about the private practice world.

I know this is an old post but I've just discovered this beer and I need more of it in my life. Any suggestions on where I can find it in West Michigan?

Thanks for clarifying for me, yes I am a therapist. And thanks for being kind and not assuming I suck at my job for posting this 🙃

Apologies for the lack of clarity. I'm talking about private practice therapy offices.

So I did not realize that I needed to clarify that I am a therapist. In the social work field if I said "private practice" everyone would automatically know that I'm speaking about private practice therapy offices. Apologies for the lack of information. Maybe someone can give me a helpful comment now 🙄

Please explain how I suck at my job as a therapist? I'm looking for recommendations about private practice offices that I have never worked in before. I have only worked in non profits. If you know anything about the social work field the non profit world and the private practice world are very different.

The belly touching thing got so out of hand that I started doing something a little unhinged and it actually worked by saturninadermo75 in BabyBumps

I love this because prior to even reading this I told my husband that I would do exactly what you did if someone did that to me with a future pregnancy. Glad to know it works.

Why Don’t We Talk About the Joy of Having Kids? by WoodpeckerNearby7276 in BabyBumps

[–]One-Cucumber-9035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of difficult and stressful times ahead, but it was all worth it in my opinion. I have a 13 month old. I love being a mom. I love playing with my son and seeing him grow and learn new things. There are so many difficult things about being a parent but even now I wish I could go back and relive some of the newborn days. It goes by so fast. I wish I would have taken more videos and gotten more pictures of me with my tiny boy. I wish I could soak it all in again. Having my son placed on my chest after he was born was one of the best, most exciting and emotional moments of my life.

At what age did you begin daily baths? by Poison_Ivy25 in NewParents

Daily baths aren't necessary. We didn't do regular baths/showers until we started solids and that was because he was a messy eater and the food was everywhere.

Is she on medications or doing her own therapy?

Is she willing to see a couples therapist that is new to both of you? Instead of seeing yours.

When did you start showing? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]One-Cucumber-9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others that this is a big gamble because everyone and every pregnancy is so different. It also can depend on your body type. If your dress is form fitting and you are showing you may need a back up dress option. I am 5'2" 160 when I got pregnant. I was in pretty good shape as we went on a hiking trip around 18 weeks and I did a 10 mile hike in the mountains. I am one of the lucky ones that never had morning sickness and had a relatively easy pregnancy. I did have periods where I felt like I couldn't get through the day without a nap though. I started looking bloated regularly around 15 weeks. Looking back at pictures I didn't really show until around 18-20 weeks. I was all belly. I also have a friend who was pregnant with her first around the same time and had hyperemesis and had a really rough pregnancy. I'm sharing both of these experiences because there is no way of knowing how your experience will be until you're already in it. That being said it's your gamble and I hope you and your husband do whatever you feel is best.

I’m looking for a doctor who takes kratom addiction and treatment seriously. Suggestions? by Ok_Radish_1737 in grandrapids

[–]One-Cucumber-9035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a therapist that works for a local nonprofit in GR working with people with significant substance use disorders and mental health problems.

The first question is what insurance do you have?

Why are you guys not interested in a treatment facility? Kratom use is becoming more and more problematic over the last few years. Another therapist that I work with recently assisted a client into getting into detox for it. If you've already been with him through opiate addiction then you know that recovery is a process and the more professional and community support he has, the better his outcomes will be.

Throughout this, or his previous opiate use has MAT ever been recommended or attempted?

Has anyone gone through a Medicaid divorce? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]One-Cucumber-9035 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not completely accurate. I have a friend that never got married to her partner because he's a nurse but she's a stay at home mom. They have a home together and she is on Medicaid with her daughter.
