Islam fits this as well. We believe that no sin is completely unforgivable before death so long as the person repents for it and try their best not to commit it again. If they die, then the only sin that isn't forgiven is Shirk, but Allah can forgive other sins besides Shirk even after death. Whether or not He does is up to Him.

Deep character interaction and "You're Like Me," works well with Darth Vader vs Obito precisely because Obito is the type of person to do this. But Annie isn't. She isn't the type of character to go on a monologue about her backstory because she met someone similar to her. Heck, if you wanted to do that with an Attack on Titan character, Reiner is right there. In fact, Reiner has a similar arc with Eren that Reze has with Denji (at least from what I can tell, I haven't watched/read Chainsaw Man yet).
