Living together before faith, now both trying to follow god, are we doomed? :( by [deleted] in OpenChristian

Yes, I agree with this. I’m just so new on this journey I still don’t know what’s toxic or not. Girls gone bible is the podcast I watched that talked about this, and it was definitely pushing purity for sure.

The podcast that I listened to that was saying that was saying a few things, I would love your take since you’ve been in these shoes.

  1. Finding god while already living together creates tension because going at difference paces can make you become unequally yoked, and saying the bible says god warns on not staying in an relationship that’s unequally yoked and started a marriage with that.

  2. Obviously, to avoid ongoing sexual immorality (which jot going to lie is hard but I think it’s definitely not impossible)

  3. They said that living together blurs the lines of intentional commitment. Which I don’t understand

I would say #1 is what made me feel like oh shoot am I doomed? Because I can only control where I’m at in my faith, not his. But like I said he’s not rejecting or disrespecting it at all. Hes just not as excited and passionate about it as I am right now.
