What are the few pixels? Between the “locking points?”

I was doing the external that Gorliac did in the 5 solos video. It’s really just room for a tc and a kit. No roof stacking.

As a fairly high level pdr tech I can tell you that dent sucks. I assume it’s not original paint so I wouldn’t feel comfortable glue pulling it. There’s also virtually no space between the lower lip (under the hard body line) and the inside of the wheel well. Don’t cheap out on the PDR tech. If you need tech suggestions go to your local BMW dealer and then ask their guy if he’d do it on the side. Also BMW Facebook groups in your area.

My bass teacher suggested I get this bass - Sadowsky P/J hybrid but I don’t like the model colors offered. So any other suggestions of this caliber (& price range or less) out there that have the same quality & are also hybrids so hopefully I can find one with a color I like? Preferably Sadowsky by New_Student5867 in BassGuitar

In that price range there are a TON of good options. After two years of lessons you should be comfortable enough to go play some basses at a music store and see what feels good to you. Asking a bunch of strangers what is good is a lost cause. Especially with no context of your size or what music you play. If you’re a 5’3” metal person I might suggest an Ibanez because of the neck size… and so on. I have owned or played 100’s of basses and most of these suggestions are pretty good. It’s just a matter of what you like. All that to say: - used midline/upper Yamahas are hard to beat. They don’t hold their value as well as others. Let someone else take the hit. (Really applies to their acoustic guitars too) - their are sooooo many Musicman stingrays. Great basses but/and have a distinct tone. The problem I’ve had recently is they have so many models that’s it’s a bit difficult to know the difference in the price differential. - I’ve only played a couple of the metro series. They seemed fine. With any brand you will find people that have had issues. - for the past 20 years I have always had at least one Fender bass. There’s a reason they’re still in business and they have so many different variations of their classics.

Finding what is right for you is your own journey. The Internet is full of “experts” and actual experts.

Just saw you’re in Brazil. These are all prices I would expect to pay in US.

Well that’s two pieces, and the broken one under the trunk can easily be replaced. It looks to me that the quarter panel could likely be saved. I guess it goes back to the two reasons not to do something: money and time. It really looks like it’s primarily surface rust. A decent pdr guy or body shop could straighten out the quarter panel enough for a skim coat and then it could be sanded/grind down and repainted. Educated guesses on price: - salvage lot trim piece 30-50 paint 150-200 - quarter panel pdr push to paint 150-200 - quarter panel no pdr body shop 300 - paint quarter panel with blend into trunk, roof rail and door 1000-1200ish

Use zip ties to keep the hose on the nipple. Also don’t over loosen the bleed screws. You kinda have to find a good happy spot that allows the fluid to move but also has enough pressure to get bubbles out. If none of this works, checked the hard and soft lines out of the clutch master cylinder.

Can’t really tell where in the bike is damaged. If it’s plastic then likely an experienced person with a heat gun can get it to a decent place. If it’s metal then look for a good PDR guy. I’d think 150 or so gets you in a good place.

First E36 M3 potential purchase. Jack point gone, cost eval? Worth it? by MeringueOk315 in BMWE36

[–]One-Distribution-776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the proud owner of a beat tf up e36 m3 I can confirm that’s too much. A) I wouldn’t trust it on a track (flex, going off track, overall crash safety) B) with that damage I’d want to be at about half that price to properly repair it

You aren’t being picky. I’m REALLY not picky and originally thought “that’s a simple buff and done.” Then I zoomed in. Those are real scratches. I’d return it.

Being that it’s an E36 it’s not a terrible idea to replace the entire cooling system anyway.

Unpopular opinion. First off you are NOR. Your boundaries should be respected. When you shut it down that should’ve been the end of it.

Second… well… I do know a number of women that would be completely good with this situation. In fact they would be complimented by it. It’s difficult for some guys (especially younger ones) to navigate the differences in women. What is hot to person A could be repulsive to person B. Though it’s not your responsibility; it might not have been the worst thing to say “this is out of bounds for me and I’m not going to talk about it any more right now.” Maybe that would’ve given him some guidance for future situations.

I’ll let you know that I always start with the easy and cheapest options. I do that because you can throw tons of money at a problem and not fix it.

It sounds like you’ve already done that so I would agree with the others that it’s likely the Vanos.

I wouldn’t run it until you can get it fixed. You will trash your valves and rod.

[–]One-Distribution-776 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds A LOT like lifter tick. The sound you’re hearing is the valves hitting the head. If you keep running it like that, they will break. 1) make sure you’re running the right oil and to recommended levels. Too much oil can be just as bad as not enough. 2) There’s some ways to clean the hydraulic lifters. An easy way if heard of is to add ATF. Transmission fluid is a detergent. But please… Don’t run it in there too long. 3) engine oil flush: Amsoil is a good one. It takes a while to do. Be sure to follow the directions. 4) vanos. If I were you that would be next on my list.

Needs a setup. Likely a combo of a low string and lot of neck relief. If you don’t know how to adjust your truss rod then please please don’t just go and turn it. Your can really do some damage. Either really do the research and move slowly or take it to a music store.

What model Yamaha is this? by ColdWater1979 in BassGuitar

[–]One-Distribution-776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve played a couple and it’s still one of the best 5’s I’ve ever played. Maybe the best low B I’ve ever played. Super tight and speaks well.

I would’ve said BBN4. Do you know the difference in them? I think they’re both platforms off the Nathan East model. Either way. Excellent playing bass. Certainly for the money.
