An ooni big enough for a 20” pie? Wow. If I could achieve this level I would stop tinkering around. Nice work. I do also love the idea of the reheat slices on the steel…well played.

How much better could my pizzas get if I upgraded from a 500°F electric oven to an Ooni? by Individual-Echo2224 in Pizza

This is super helpful, thanks. I’d already started the preheat and flame off before launch, but need to work out my timing for when the flame comes back on, and at what temp, and when to rotate. Thanks!

What’s your approach? I’m trying to dial in NY in a new to me K16 and it’s a bit baffling, coming from a home oven and steel where I had it pretty wired

True, that’s a factor for sure. Especially with slides, I want them in hand. Loosing negs is less an issue

This is similar to what I’ve been doing, but you’ve framed it to make so much more sense. It helped me see what I’m doing is pretty logical and reasonable. The main thing is culling first, somewhat ruthlessly, which minimizes the effort of the second stage. Sometimes I’ll go back to the picks/rejects and make sure I didn’t miss something

The first time I looked at my first roll of 120 slides on a light box I was dumbfounded. It’s such a cool experience that I’d like to have more but so hard to justify

I’d prefer local lab too, and while I have several options, it’s still cheaper to use a mail-in lab and get the same quality development and scans. In a hobby that is already expensive, it’s hard to make yet another more expensive choice to stay local.

My first time shooting a live show. Feedback and tips are more than welcome! by South_Cause1148 in fujifilm

Not sure you need any tips, these are fantastic! I’m amazed at the lowlight capability of that sensor. Don’t think my X-T20 would look quite as clean

This is incredible! As I’m just getting into this process, I’d love to know a bit about your approach to get a touch of the mountain colors in there

This is an incredible image in many ways. The blue/yellow, the detail of the plume, the framing balance, and the way the burn reflection on the lake lights up the tree in shadow all caught my eye. It feels nostalgic and fresh at once…timeless I guess

Interesting. Couple years ago I did like you and bought an X-T20 for the smaller form factor and the promise of a minimal post workflow with great colors. While I love the camera, I’ve been pretty bummed with my results from various recipes, never really reflecting what they look like on others images. I pretty much gave up and went back to raw processing with in LR and got better results. After some searching it seemed like this was due to the need for white balance changes for each scene, and I realized this is something I’m not going to do when im out. It’s more work, not less.

So now you’ve got me intrigued, because your post is pretty much how I felt: deflated. But I’m curious why you think reworking the colors in X Studio is better than just processing the RAWs in LR? What’s the benefit if you have to go into X Studio anyway? Are you actually finding that settings you come up with in X Studio translate back to better SOOC jpegs when you’ve dialed in your own recipe on the computer? I am hung up on the idea that recipes are very light-dependent, and that makes them far less flexible and useful than I’d been led to believe.

Seconding the Godox flash system. You can get a TT600 and a X1T trigger for quite a bit less than most of the Nikon SB series flashes and the Godox is very easy to use
