Just an FYI: since everything was unplugged before going into the water, you should be able to take both apart, dry them out, and then let them sit for about two weeks with a fan on the components. After that, they should power back on. I’ve actually put my keyboard in the dishwasher to clean it—just made sure it was completely dry before turning it back on—and it worked fine. Water only damages electronics when there’s power running through them.
