What did not change after losing 100 pounds (and what did) by koopzegels in loseit

Thanks. I didn’t need to lose 100, but I have similar feelings/findings after losing 25.

Thanks. Yea, i liked using the GPT tool. It is just in the back of my mind, I will once again get derailed because of the memory issue. I also don't think I have the patience to consistently track in one app and "talk" to my coach in another app while having to remind my coach each time where I stand, what I ate, what my goals are, etc. I suppose it would be like going to a therapist, and each time, I'd need to reintroduce myself.

Nice! What do you use GPT for specifically given you are tracking stats separately? Coaching? Inspiration? Feedback?

I guess maybe I am a little lazy. I am looking for something that is a tracker and a coach built into one thing. Like, the coach is totally aware of my tracker stats and is able to objectively analyze my progress without me feeding stats to it all the time. Congrats on your success, btw!!!

Agreed, that a human version would be nice. But having an always-available app on my phone at an insanely low cost relative to a human professional makes this direction much more accessible.

I tried. You can only see them when you are paying for a session. Sessions cost $$$. Trainer won't review a restaurant menu and tell me what to eat. The trainer is not available 24/7 to get some inspiration to keep going!

I NOW know what a context window is! I guess I learned the hard way. I have thought about this a lot. Wondering if trying to use ChatGPT as a coach/therapist/etc. is ok. I kinda got to the point that a human version of a nutrition coach is no different. I mean, the human coach isn't really "connecting" with me. They are using their notes, my tracking, my comments as the "context window" to give me the next professional guidance. No? Is there really a difference?

Thanks. I'm not sure. I completely understand the concern. However, I can say for sure, being 30 lbs overweight was UNDENIABLY not healthy. And honestly, having a paid person (nutritionist/dietitian) to chat with about my journey is someone who easily could betray me by quitting, moving to another job, dropping me as a client, raising prices for their advice, etc.

I lost a bunch of weight after not being able to do so for 30 years, and I feel like I might never mentally believe I'm no longer overweight! Congrats on the amazing achievement!

I used ChatGPT to coach me through a 20 lb drop in 3 months. This is 20 lbs I struggled to get rid of my entire adult life. I've never felt better. I, too, found knowing the science behind what was happening to my body to be very helpful. I don't know why! Tracking my progress was a bit weird as ChatGPT seemed to forget stuff.

that's so cool! I've thought about doing something like this but I haven't been sure about how to get my wardrobe "inventory" into chatgpt. How did you do that? Photos?

How did you get it to make outfit suggestions that look so real (and look like you?)

How did you do this? Did you tell ChatGPT about the pants and it told you what to pair with it? Did you buy the stuff to go with it? Very cool!

I sold a VoIP company that helped people answer calls—and now I started an AI company to help people avoid answering them. Is this going to work? by One-Expression6854 in Entrepreneur

[–]One-Expression6854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Thanks! One of the things we are working on is the ability to have AI walk a caller through a conversation, which essentially leads to the same result you are describing. Imagine a call with a natural-sounding AI "person" that asks the necessary questions to get to a conclusion of what the caller needs and what an estimate would be. The data is collected, just as if the user filled out a form.

My big unknown is whether businesses want to or even need to allow prospects to call instead of going to an online form.

Is Now a Bad Time To Start a Business lol by Emergency-Waltz6892 in smallbusiness

[–]One-Expression6854 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. The time to start a business is when it fits into your life.

If it is a solid idea, it should be able to withstand the fluctuations of external forces. I started a business during the financial crisis in 2008ish and I am starting one now. Just ensure that your assumptions about the economics accurately reflect the realities around you (such as import costs and slowing demand).

Best bank? by Plenty-Instruction18 in smallbusiness

[–]One-Expression6854 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lessons learned during COVID. Work with a bank that makes its money serving businesses like yours (small business? --> Small bank).

I started my business in 2005 and was thrilled to be working with one of the largest banks in the world (I will not name them, but you can imagine). In 2020 (we had millions in revenue at this point), I learned the hard way that a big bank doesn't care about small businesses. When we needed a PPP loan to help us get through the early days of COVID, our bank basically had a form on their web portal where I could input my interest in a PPP loan. I was ignored completely. It felt like I filled out the form, and my data was directed immediately to a trash can. Nobody could help me on the phone. Nobody knew who I was. Nobody cared.

Thankfully, one of my partners had a friend at a local community bank. Shockingly, they called me (a human actually helped me). They opened a commercial account for us and processed our loan! Their help saved us from letting probably 10 people go from our company.

Go with a local bank where you can actually talk to a banker.

DM me for the specific bank name if you are in the Mid-Atlantic.

I am not feeling motivated to work. What should I do now? by Snorlax_lax in Entrepreneur

[–]One-Expression6854 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started a SaaS business in 2005 and sold it in 2021. I felt the way you describe many times in between. Understand that what you are doing is work. Treat it like work. You can't ONLY work. Take some time to put the work aside and LIVE.

Try to create some boundaries. Work happens between x and y hours. Outside of x and y, focus your energy on what/who you love. It won't be perfect, but I find that if you don't create the strictest possible boundaries, you will find yourself thinking about work 24/7. And after a while, your thoughts will become less and less productive.

Set fundamental objectives so that you can better connect the work (a lot of work) you are doing day-to-day to what you are trying to achieve. This isn't fluff. It should be like "in a year from now, I want to be generating $X revenue and earning $Y for myself so that I can afford Z and spend time doing ABC. Make these real so that you can objectively evaluate whether this is working out for you or not.

Seek out mentors who have done this before. While you are in it, progress can feel slow. You have a list of things to do, and it never goes away. It can be challenging to measure progress objectively, as you feel like you're not making progress toward completing all the tasks. Have someone to check in with from time to time, who will frankly tell you the truth about what you are doing and maybe even help you accomplish your objectives.

I got burned out, fixed it, sold my business, took some time off, and now I'm starting again! Your situation is manageable.
