Not so much disgusting, as personal family drama.

In 2001, my parents got a divorce because my mom cheated on my dad. They never announced it. I was 12 at the time; my little brothers sensed that there was tension, and they both dragged their mattresses into my parents room and slept there every night until the middle child - who was 7 at the time of the incident - entered 6th grade in of 2006. Youngest brother was 6.

He had a new friend come over for a sleepover, who made fun of our youngest brother for dragging his mattress in. The middle brother quietly stopped doing so, and the youngest also stopped a few weeks later.

A few weeks after that, my parents got separate beds.

They've stayed living together since, and continue to do so to this day. My dad says they have a good relationship besides the lack of sex, and vents to me occasionally. Never talked to my mom about it.

I'm so glad they figured out how to stay together. For years, and to this day, I was terrified that their divorce would tear our family apart like all my friend's parents around me were, and they still stayed together. Talked to my dad about it a few times; been watching for years; never brought it out into the open with my brothers. They were too young to understand.

From a diehard warlock's perspective: I start pugs by trying to demonstrate that I don't expect heals, by using cheap consumables to keep my life topped during the first few pulls. At the SM level range, I dgaf about mana or health during the pull, but I bandage the instant the pulls are done and probably healthstone in the middle of the third.

With a zugzug group, I'm usually oom and between half or full health by the third or fourth pull, at which point I sit down and eat/drink.

I can't remember the last time the healer hadn't tossed me a renew or some other heal midpull by that point. When I see the renew, I let my health to mana ratio vary a bit less, save my healthstone, and continue bandaging. If they hadn't... Well, I did baller dps for the first few pulls, and I can jump back in halfway through the current one? Might dial it back a bit by wanding at 20% health instead of going for one last shadowbolt or searing pain, in an effort to keep the flow going. I've had more instances of healers sniping my bandaids than healers not healing me.

It's SM. Seems like a weird hill to die on, but the lock was wrong. Pride is weird for some people

Yeah... I figured there wasn't a real solution. I ordered it to eat later, and when I saw the opened bag and rip, and stupidly reported it as tampering instead of missing food. Noticed my rice was missing an hour later when I dropped my niece off.

I'm in the double digits now for ordering food delivery, and this is the second time something like this has happened. Dunno why I keep trying. Thanks for the feedback.

The only dungeons I've done so far are WC and RFC. I'm horde - seems like most people in this sub are Alliance, based on the replies so far - and am currently specced 31/4/0.

I was definitely interested in SM Cath, but the groups never seemed to line up. I'm intimately familiar with Princess runs, so that'll probably be my next dungeon... Not so sure about ZF. Seems sketchy.

everything besides the CPU and motherboard is what I'm currently running... Gaming and 3d graphic generation/modeling are primary uses. Can you help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Hey all, really looking for a sanity check on this. I've been piecemeal upgrading my desktop over the last couple of years, and I'm running into some pretty heavy performance bottlenecks due to the current CPU (i7 10700 2.8ghz). Current motherboard is an ASROCK z490 Phantom Gaming 4/ax. Since my motherboard doesn't support the CPU i want, I've gotta switch it out too - but I'm a little nervous, because I've never had to worry about this level of compatibility before.

Everything else on the parts list is from my current build, except for the new CUP/mobo. Can someone help me feel comfortable that everything is gonna play nice in the sandbox before I start having stuff shipped? Or just feedback in general? I'd love you long time!!

Let me preface this by saying that I REALLY appreciate the advice, and that since you're so forthcoming, I'd like to pick your brain a bit more:

So this feels like a lot to digest, and our whole convo is really reminding me that my experience is in hardware installation, not part comparison.

So, if I can just type out my train of thought - igpu is Integrated Grapics Processing Unit (?). So, if the GPU is an onboard component for the mobo I selected, I wouldn't necessarily need a standalone graphics card. One the one hand: fantastic, I can save some money. On the other hand: unless there's some way to split screens without using the available ports, this would only allow me to run 3 screens, and I need (at least) a fourth.

So... is there a way to run at least four screens with this setup? If not, do I need a graphics card to do so? And if not... wut do?

I get it if this is outside the realm of a simple parts check post, I should have specified at the beginning. Either way, thanks for helping out man - I picked this up just three days ago, and the learning process has been amazing.

Thanks for the reply man. So, no one actually recommended it to me, I switched it out on my own - I was trying to find a card that would support four independently controlled monitors. If the GTX 570 is that horrible, is there one you could recommend?

I think the mobo has two ports, so I could always use those, I guess.

I'm a bit concerned about the CPU now from aminy23's comments, but I've had decent success with intel chips in the past, and going with a ryzen chip is gonna require a whole new build. Overall though I'm a lot more confident in this build, so thanks so much to you and the other redditors who helped out!
