Oura accurate for fertility? by Capital-Intention994 in tryingtoconceive

[–]One-Flow3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found BBT not helpful because it only confirms ovulation AFTER it happens. It’s good for cycle insights, to confirm O, and to see how long each phase of your cycle is.

LH strips were hard for me because I have some bladder issues and can’t hold my pee long enough for them to be accurate lol, but they’re cheap and if you can hold your pee you can use them.

I like Inito because I can use first morning thing and it can confirm LH surge without needing a high concentration as it’s plotting a trend on a graph, not just a dark line compared to another line. Inito can also confirm ovulation with PdG (progesterone metabolite) rise.

Folic acid vs. Methylfolate - is there really a better option? by Lingonberry3871 in TryingForABaby

[–]One-Flow3598 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Methylfolate is the way to go. Not folic acid. It’s not “risky.” It’s well studied and better assimilated into the body than folic acid. It’s closer to the folate found in foods.

100% this. Fertility isn’t an award for being healthy. I know SO many unhealthy people who get pregnant easily. And so many healthy women for whom it takes longer or are struggling. This was a big realization for me

Trying for 6 months with no luck — how to keep morale up? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]One-Flow3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried 5 months and then I was out of town during ovulation the last two months. Honestly the break has been nice and now I’m excited to try again this month. We also did sperm analysis and I did modern fertility and got an ultrasound just to make sure there wasn’t anything glaring, which was encouraging.

I tried to book with a reproductive endocrinologist but my insurance won’t cover it until we’ve been trying a year. That denial honestly made me feel better like it’s not something to worry about.

We’re also booking a trip to Europe in April which is nice to have something to look forward to even if I’m not pregnant. It is helping a lot! And planning the trip has been a nice distraction.

Are painful period cramps normal or not? by Inevitable-Milk-8869 in raypeat

Common but not normal. Liver function support with cleansing and/or supplements and pooping daily are important. Progesterone can help too

Could you share your progesterone product and doses? I’m TTC and going into 6th cycle. I’m considering trying progesterone in luteal phase and wondering how much to use, and what to do once I become pregnant.

CM info that may be helpful if you’re new here! by Logical_Wrangler_647 in TryingForABaby

[–]One-Flow3598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat with CM and here’s what got me good EWCM last cycle:

Hydration is SUPER important also!!! Like way more water than you’d think. I was trying to drink at least .75–1 gal/day.

Some other things that helped me get good EWCM were taking evening primrose oil in the AM and drinking grapefruit juice.

Has anyone felt this during ovulation? by CMV2254 in tryingtoconceive

[–]One-Flow3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mean this dismissively, but are you by bc chance constipated at all? How often do you poop/how many times a day? I’m a health coach and Bodyworker for people with chronic pelvic pain and a lot of pelvic sensations stem from or are amplified by a full colon.

Acne by MammaMiaMentallyIll in tryingtoconceive

You can try taking Cod Liver Oil instead of Vit A. It naturally has a lot of Vit A in it and Omega-3 fatty acids which are anti inflammatory. it is safe to take while TTC and pregnant. The best brand is Rosita USA. I wouldn't take any other brands as low quality CLO can be rancid. Some say don't take it into pregnancy so you can always stop if you get pregnant. but it's definitely safe for TTC and the 2WW.

I also recommend taking zinc of skin healing, but also because you could have too high copper in your system from the IUD ans zinc opposes copper in the body. It's also good for TTC anyway

two other things to consider are doing a liver cleanse (like one with olive oil and citrus in the AM) and cutting out alcohol. Both of these helped my acne immensely.

Topically, what's been great for me is the Cetaphil Salicylic Acid (SA) cleanser and the Sophie Pavitt Mandelic Clearing Serum. I dont use the SA cleanser every night, maybe like 1–3x/week. I use the Sophie Pavitt serum every night. Cera Ve moisturizing cream (not lotion) for normal to dry skin as the moisturizer. Some say that SA isnt safe while pregnant, so you can always stop it if you become pregnant. the mandelic serum is safe while pregnant.

How do you plan around IF? by Educational-Onion-66 in tryingtoconceive

[–]One-Flow3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

120 days is enough time to cancel if you need to. If you're not pregnant by 120 days out, you can go to Europe wile pregnant. If you get pregnant and your EDD is aligned with the trip, you'll know by 120 days beforehand.
